Photography 101: Day Fifteen: Landscape & Cropping

Day Fifteen: Landscape & Cropping

Today, let’s walk in the footsteps of masters like Ansel Adams and focus on landscape photography.

Landscapes generally focus on wide, vast depictions of nature and all of its elements, from formations to weather.

Blogging 101: Day Fifteen: Create a New Posting Feature

“Poetry is the art of uniting pleasure with truth” Samuel Johnson

Blogging 101: Day Fifteen: Create a New Posting Feature

Today’s task: develop a regular feature for your blog.

I promised myself a while back to write “at least” a poem a day, if nothing else and have almost achieved that goal. Sometimes I end up with two or more even in one day.

So far I have posted eighty five (85) poems. Some of them have been featured on WILDsound Writing, Screenplay and Film Festival Review -site also and I am glad the readers seem to enjoy my wee rantings I like to call poetry.

I have also set up a feature page in the blog to guide the users to the latest postings: Poetry of the Day

My poetry is based on three things:

The Idea: It usually a prompt from the radio, workplace or from what ever situation develops during the day.

The Adage or Quote: I try to find a humorous one whenever possible or make one up if needed.

The Picture: Either from my personal archives or borrowed from the WWW.

Go and Enjoy the written word!

Coffee made me do it!

“Black as night, sweet as sin” Neil Gaiman

Coffee made me do it!

Today I went off the edge
I didn’t even take a pledge
I pranced around like a Fred Astaire
The others looking with a stare
Laughing out very loud
And feeling extremely proud
An old tune from years ago
Nothing to stop the show
I started singing that tune
Not being any kind of prune
Why this happened you may ask
It wasn’t anything from a flask
Though I have one excuse to acquit
The Coffee made me do it!

Observe your scene before pressing the shutter, considering how all the elements in the frame interact with one another. Make an object appear larger through a ground-level POV.

Fool me Once, or a Few more Times

“Fool me seven times, shame on you. Fool me eight or more times, shame on me” Amy Futurama

Fool me Once, or a Few more Times

I may look like the fool
But I am actually cool
I may act like a tool
But I got schooled
So don’t be too cruel
And abide by this rule
Fool me once
I will bounce
Fool me twice
Oh, you got spice!
Fool me a few more times
And I will show you in rhymes
How you have to show your dimes
And pay, for your crimes

The Devil only asked for my Little Finger, but stole my Whole Hand

“I wake up and I see the face of the devil and I ask her, “What time is it?”
And she says, How much time do you want?” Diamanda Galás

The Devil asked for my Little Finger but stole my Whole Hand

You finally sunk onto the level
Where you were ready to deal with the Devil
Cutting the deal might have seemed easy
But what you found out made you queasy

What you didn’t realize when offering one finger
The Devil had hers crossed while your decision was a linger
What you thought was a small and simple deal
Turned out to be much more than a steal

You see, when striking a deal with the Devil
You will be entering at your own peril
To a contract you think you can choose
Much more than you care to loose

So, now that you got what you wanted
Still, you can’t help feeling haunted
Your eyes always checking the stern
Wondering, if and when she will return…

Blogging 101: Day Thirteen: Try (Another) Blogging Event

Blogging 101: Day Thirteen: Try (Another) Blogging Event

It’s time to leave the confines of Blogging U. to seek other opportunities (blopportunities?). From weekly photo challenges to monthly flash-fiction events, blogger-hosted events are fun, free ways to get feedback on your work, build your audience, and make friends.

Today’s task: pick a blogging event from the Community Event Listings (https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_event/) , and participate in the next round.

I found too many interesting ones! And I solemnly swear to try all of them in the near future (fingers crossed) 😛
