On our way to school
Like any good kid should
But
Hope nobody noticed
We went into hiding instead
Today we are playing hookey
Eating all the cookies
While everyone else is away

First I was broken
Unable to walk, run or dance
Putting on high heels
Next to impossible
Now it feels
More and more possible
For a second chance
And the world wide open

Thunder and lightning
Can be oh so frightning
But don’t run indoors

The end of August
Time to adjust
To the coming of Fall
No use trying to stall
The cold and rain
Will soon gain
The sun rays are few
Feelings of blue
Until the foliage
In multiple colours
Will brighten the days
Get you out of the haze
And life is bright
