Soft Vision

Poetry and Photography

“My poor vision gives me a soft-focus morning. For the first half hour, I kind of wander through my house, and everything is a blur. I put my contacts in when I’m ready to deal with the world” Carrie Ann Inaba

Soft Vision

Sometimes looking at life
Through soft blurry vision
Is like giving up the strife
Moving towards wisdom
Being out of focus
May sound bogus
But it can really be
A very good thing

Camera Lucida: Autumn Lane

Photography and Poetry: Camera Lucida Photo Challenge

Week Eleven: Autumn Lane

“By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With summer’s best of weather And autumn’s best of cheer” Helen Hunt Jackson

Camera Lucida: Autumn Lane

The view from my window
Almost like a suburban meadow
Nature growing wild and free
Only a glimpse of the road I see
The pathway to our house
Narrow and more fitting for a mouse
Black asphalt with a touch of green
Surrounded by colours more gorgeous
Than I ever seen
Mirror mirror on the wall
Which of the seasons
Is the prettiest of them all
Why Autumn of course
Such a nature’s force

The Dark Side of the Crescent Moon

“You can be the moon and still be jealous of the stars” Gary Allan

The Dark Side of the Crescent Moon

In the darkness
Of the silent night
Staring into the blackness
With only guiding light
The crescent moon
Eyes fully tuned
Watching each step
So not to misstep
From the narrow road
With a stride slowed
The dark side tempting
But towards the light bending
Which side will win
And paint your skin
With its mark
