Mundane Monday (REPOST)

Photo challenge for PhoTrabloggers Mundane Monday

“Monday is great if I can spend it in bed. I’m a man of simple pleasures, really” Arthur Darvill

Mundane Monday

Just another Manic Monday
Certainly not my fun day
Back in the office again
Simply cannot explain
It just happens
Always after weekend
Leaving me baffled
I cannot help myself
And leaves me overwhelmed
I just end up here
In this stratosphere
Called work

“I don’t generally like running. I believe in training by rising gently up and down from the bench” Satchel Paige

A Bench to Sit on

I was looking for
A bench to sit on
What I hoped to score
Something close to a lawn
To lay my tired self
On a softer shelf

Then I saw it
The bench, made of stone
When I tried to sit
I felt it to my bones
Too hard for a fit!

Moving forward
I found one, made of wood
Maybe it wasn’t hard
Rather suitably good
Too soft for a fit!

So once again
I had to complain
But I knew, the right seat
Was just in reach
I just had to seek

A little while longer
As I moved along
The feeling now stronger
I knew it wouldn’t be long
I was close to finding
As I saw the metal shining

I finally found it
A bench made of metal
For me to sit
Soft as a petal
A purr-fect fit

Caturday: Rulers of the World (2015-12-19)

In honour of Caturday

Photo credits include: Miranda Kuusisto, Jessica Solingius and Minttu Gustafsson

“I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat” Edgar Allan Poe

Caturday: Rulers of the World

They run your world
Despite whatever you heard
Twisting you around their tall tails
Urging you to run on nails
You will jump when they hail
“Yes Ma’am” you hear yourself say
When they approach you with a sway
And tell you it is time to play

Cats, are the rulers of the world
Sometimes you may hear yourself say “shit”
But you have to admit
You are loving every minute of it

Fabulous Friday or Ode to my Shiny Golden Shoes (2015-12-18)

Fabulous Friday or Ode to my Shiny Shoes

golden-shoes-2

My shiny golden shoes
No time for the blues
Singing and dancing
In my shoes of fancy

My lovely golden shoes
Act as some kind of muse
They might be flashy
But I feel quite dashy

I may not be Howard Hughes
And I don’t need any booze
With minimal financing
I am out celebrating

Thank Goodness
For Fabulous Fridays!

Farewell (Writing 101, A Poem A Day)

Writing 101, A Poem A Day, Day 10, Farewell
Poetry & Photography

Write a poem about a farewell today: perhaps this image may bring back memories of loved ones who passed, or revive memories of those that departed from our lives. Or you could focus on the more mundane, but still powerful moments of your daily goodbye rituals, whether it’s a friend, partner, or member of your family.

farewell 1

“Farewell, fair cruelty” William Shakespeare

Farewell

Farewell, good bye, so long
Everyone try to stay strong
Sadness, drama, comedy
Who said saying farewell was easy?

Farewell may be forever
But never say never
Our world is still round
And what is sometimes lost
Usually, can be found
After all, we are all bound
In this tiny part of universe
Our paths may once again cross
May we remember this verse

Farewell, good bye, so long
Consider life a song
Keep chanting and stay strong
Old friends may soon come along

Give it a High Five! (Blogging 101, Commenting Bootcamp)

Blogging 101, Commenting Bootcamp, Day Five: Commenting on Comments

Blog posts are half of the two-way conversation between the writer and readers; comments are the other half. The liveliest comment sections are full of conversations and sub-conversations and sub-sub-conversations.

Today, find an interesting conversation and reply to other comments, rather than to the post.

Comment sections can be rich social experiences where new friends are forged, and fans found. Get involved! A conversational comment thread is more fun for everyone.

If you’re commenting on a blog where you’ve never spoken up before, leave a comment specifically for the blogger as well; if it’s a blog where you’re a regular, responding directly to other commenters is a-okay.

“My site has the whole thing – blogs, information, video interviews” William Shatner

Give it a High Five!

‘Twas an “interesting” five days
Sometimes that is all it takes
Getting out and about
Sometimes even giving a shout
Some say ’twas not within limits
But trying out new gimmics
Was the idea for this round
Not to put on a frown
Hope no one got to hurt
Or did their sleeves get burnt
For myself I can say
Thanks for this memory
See Y’all on the blogs
All my best and no sobs

Happy Holidays to one and all!

Machine, Part Two

Photo Challenge by SYLVAIN LANDRY
A response to Sylvain’s challenge theme of, Machine

“People are more difficult to work with than machines. And when you break a person, he can’t be fixed” Rick Riordan

Lift

Going up, going down
Never stops on its own
A pater noster
Of a modern kind
A machine more efficient
Is very hard to find
