Remembering the Turn of the Year (Daily Photo 2016-01-12)

Colourful burst of light
Against the darkness
Of the night
The clocks are churning
The new year is turning
Time for a new hope
And a new future

“Writers aren’t exactly people… They’re a whole bunch of people trying to be one person” F Scott Fitzgerald

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2016-01-12

We all have a little writer in us wanting to break free.

For this week’s quote, I have chosen a quote fitting for all us calling ourselves writers. Despite the fact we enjoy what we do and would not change it for the world. Still, sometimes we hit a block for one reason or another and then, we secretly wish to have some magic means to complete our stories.

“All writers have this vague hope that the elves will come in the night and finish any stories” Neil Gaiman

Blue

Feelings of
Utter sadness
Out of focus
And deepest of blue

Thinking
Adjusting
Accepting
Letting go

The picture
Getting clearer
Pain slowly
Fading away

Faded Footprints, David Bowie, In Memoriam

David Bowie: In Memoriam

DB

“Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon”

Faded Footprints

footprints1

Just a few faded footprints
Left behind on the ground
Think of them as blueprints
To vision and sound

Living in the presence
For time is of the essence
But follow them I must
Before they fade into dust

Full moon tonight
Shining, ever so bright
Hanging over suburbia
Fair warning for slight
Hysteria

“Oh Gravity, Thou Art a Heartless Bitch” – Sheldon Cooper – The Big Bang Theory

Gliding across the skies
Between the clouds she flies
Sometimes out loud she cries
But up there, no one hears
Of her fears

Weightless, One

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Weightless

Some of the things that always remind me of gravity include (but are certainly not limited to):
* Dancing all night long after the age of 30.
* Carrying a human baby for more than three minutes.
* News of a plane crash right before I embark on a trip (because that’s when all planes crash).
* Putting on skis for the first time in a couple of years.
* Building blocks. Especially building blocks.

Wings spread to the widest
When on the wind she rides
Feelings of being fearless
When up in the air she is,
