Happy Birthday to Queen Elizabeth II

Who would have thought
Of being in the same job
For some sixty three years
– Surely worth some cheers

You’re part of the folk
Even cracked a few jokes
You got street smarts
And certainly won our hearts

Pink, purple or blue
To name but a few
The colours like your spirit
Would inspire many lyrics

Wishes for
Many more
Years of reign
Hear our hail:

Long Live the Queen,
And surely and sincerely
A very happy 90th birthday, again!

“After a really hectic week, I hate going out on a Friday evening, so I’ll always opt for a night at home” Donna Air

Fabulous Friday

A new day
A new weekend
A new beginning
A blank page
I am, in center stage

On my way
My vision quite clear
People looking, in disbelief
As I am swinging
Down the street

Sounds of pops and crackles
Letting out a chuckle
Heading towards the harbour
The fireworks beginning
Feeling like I’m winning

Found the new location
Time for a celebration
For new sensations
Time for fun and play
To the rhythm starting to sway

Music and laughter
Not feeling the dafter
Only joy and being alive
Time for a high five
Let’s all have a ball

Wishing One and All
A Fabulous Friday

“Sometimes it is useful to know how large your zero is”

Multiplied by two
Then numbers quickly grew
One, two, four
Will there be more?

Is it a secret message
Hidden in a passage?
Or something completely different
And less significant?

Twenty-one point five
That’s a long way to jive
Maybe better just drive
Be on site in time
And then it’s time to fly

Fish and Chips
Never mind your hips
Nine pounds and seventy-five pennies
For that, you can forgo the veggies
A meal fulfilling and plenty
Heck, we’re not in our twenties
So worrying is unnecessary
Go ahead and place your order already!

Number thirty-three
Just wants to be free
Take a boat to the wide open sea
Try down a slippery slope ski
Or maybe, it’s just a trick for us to see
And it’s only number thirty-three

Throwback Thursday

On Thursdays we walk down memory lane and dig deeply into the archives of Rantings Of A Third Kind. For these posts, I have chosen some of my personal favourites. Some of them may tickle the funny bone, some even provoke thoughts and some of them will give you a view of the world in photographs taken by yours truly.

This week’s Throwback Thursday is dedicated to Winter, the month of cold blowing winds, lots of snow and frozen noses: Enjoy!
