Leaves of summer
Now leaves of fall
In colourful schemes
Or so it seems
For not too long
Will they go strong
Onto the ground
Their way will be found
And with the groundskeeper’s rake
Into a tall mound
Eventually transforming
Slowly metamorphosing
Catching sleep
Oh so very deep
Through the white winter
Not even a splinter
Can be found
But slowly when Spring time
They come a live
And fill the trees
With all new leaves

Mundane Monday
“Oh, yet another Monday!”
She sighed heavily when
Through the looking glass
Call it a window, alas
Suburbia covered with mist
Possibly a thoughtful gift
By the weather gods
Playing a naughty trick
“Well, better get out there, and face whatever may fare!”
And off she went
Stubbornly,
Trying to put as many dents
Getting through Monday
Not another fun-day
Luckily,
Monday only happens
Once a week!
