Autumn Foliage for Daily Photo

“By all these lovely tokens September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather And autumn’s best of cheer.”
Helen Hunt Jackson

Up the tree top

Rock-a-bye baby
On the tree top
I am feeling kind of hazy
So I better just stop!

Feeling Nostalgic for the Daily Post

“It is strange how we hold on to the pieces of the past while we wait for our futures.”
― Ally Condie, Matched

Nostalgia

When you are remembering
The “good old days”…

…How things seem better in so many ways
Only now wishing
Would stay as they are
And nothing and no one would go very far

Island Life

Not a pin drop can be heard
Not even the chirping of a bird
On this island far and remote
Be sure to bring a full tote
There will be no ships nor boats
Just a very, very wide mote
Between you and the creature comforts
But we can promise you lots of
Hard work and windy air
But to be fair
You wanted to get away from it all!

“Shiver me timbers
For I am getting sober
Pass another bottle
And we’ll go full throttle!”

Pirates

“Aargh!
Pirates we’ll be
Nothing will stop us you see!
We are tough and loud
Even Mom would be proud
Our daily fishing now is done
It’s time to drink, dance and have some fun!”

Ah, Nostalgia
That sense of euphoria
Would even impress Gloria
When you are remembering

Happy Cinnamon Roll Day!

Posted in Celebration: National Cinnamon Roll Day (Finland) 4th of October
A Finnish delicacy named “korvapuusti” (“A slap on the ear”); a sweet bun or roll

“We are in the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun”
Rowan Atkinson

Happy Cinnamon Roll Day!

korvapuusti-1

Cinnamon,
Rhymes with bon-bon
In a form of a bun
It’s even more fun
Let you teeth sink in
It’s as good as sin
And
It helps if you’re a Finn!

World Animal Day 4th of October

Celebrating World Animal Day

wad

“The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated” Mahatma Gandhi

World Animal Day, 4th of October

What would the world be
Without a cat, elephant or a bee
As far as the eye can see
Birds sitting in the trees

Join in and celebrate
All creatures great and small
They have given us much more
Than anyone can elaborate
