Sunday, Two

“Sunday evenings often feel like the weekend is over before it’s even begun”
Catherine McCormack

Sunday

Behind the shades
Weather in snowy haze
Kids with their sleighs
Running away
As the candle light’s reflected
Weekly grind neglected
Nothing but good feeling projected
Sunday is, perfected

Sunday, One

“Sunday evenings often feel like the weekend is over before it’s even begun”
Catherine McCormack

Sunday

The candles are lit
Softest of light they do emit
Inviting to sit
At least for a bit
Lazy day, admitting it
So now, nothing to do
But maybe knit
Before Monday morning
When it’s time to split

With ites sky so bright

Halo Effect (BEST OF 2016)

What after all, is a halo?
It’s only one more thing to keep clean”
Christopher Fry

The Halo Effect

What a surprise
Up in the skies
The sun got its halo
She was trying to lay low
But somehow
She was found
And awarded
With a ring of light
Shining ever so bright

Public transit, oh what joy!
But, before you shout ahoy
Read this story of ploy

Early morning in January
I was really in a hurry
The venue was set in the city
And feeling a little giddy
After all travelling by train
Was not something to do in vain
Especially in the middle of winter
With temperatures below zero
And myself certainly no sprinter
And even less of a hero

Reaching the train station
After half jogging the way
Then I heard the notification
The train had been delayed
No indication as to arrival time
But they told us, all was fine
Just a minor snafu
The train would be there in a few

A few minutes went by
On the platform standing by
Then after a while
Waiting for the train to arrive
I was wishing I had taken the car
I would have been so very far

Oh what fun and joy!
Toes, fingers and nose freezing
The snow storm’s intensity increasing
Now I know, this was a winter’s ploy!

Seat in Town for Seat Sunday (three)

Seat in Town

After a relaxing time
You hear the town bell chime
Before it’s bedtime
You need to spend a dime
So sue me, this had to rhyme!

Seat in Town

When on the town
Getting all around
There is one thing
You wish you had found
A seat, to relax on!
