Almost Art for Mundane Monday

I think you can find all the elements that you can find in great literature in mundane experiences” Harvey Pekar

Almost Art

It’s off the chart
A piece of objet d’art
Looks kind of smart
Add it to your cart
If you have a heart
And a complimentary tart
Will give you a jump-start
For no one can tear it apart
Because it’s almost a work of art

Rocking Chair for Seat Sunday

Rocking Chair

Adventuring up the stairs
To see what’s hidden in the lair
What did my little eyes spy
A blast from the past
In front of me lie
Gramma’s rocking chair!

Caturday Poem

Happy with my kitty
So I wrote this little ditty
Why don’t you sing along
To the tune of this familiar song

Soft kitty, warm kitty
Purring on my lap
Sleepy kitty, happy kitty
Why don’t I too take a nap

My little ball of fur
Listening to you purr
Life is kind of a blur
But this is how I prefer

automatically a suspicious character”

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor and a Writer

Looking into
A writers mind
You may phew
On what you find

Look in,
Carefully

Surprisingly
Lurking
Emerging

A

Tinker, Tailor,
Soldier, Sailor,
Rich Man, Poor Man,
Beggar Man, Thief

Peeping Tom, Stalker
Pervert, Prude
Sister, Brother
Loud Mouth, Mute

A

Antagonist
Protagonist
Killer, Saviour
Bad behaviour?

Winner, Looser
Coward, Hero
Or simply a Zero?

Storyteller, Liar
Truth teller, Denier

A questionable character?
Or just a clever Actor?
Psychopath,
Or, on a Path?

Writer, Politician, or a Crook?
Did I get you hooked?

A Quick Trip to Paris

The Arc de Triomphe
Certainly got that oomph
In the midst of Place de l’Etoile
Still standing strong and tall
The archaic Goliath
The biggest of the giants
For us tiny mortals to see
We have come to worship thee

“Don’t think about making art, just get it done.
Let everyone else decide if it is good or bad, whether they love it or hate it.
While they are deciding, make even more art.”

Tree Line

Painted with the finest ink
Added a little hue of pink
The colouring book of nature
Quite a spectacular feature
Across the evening sky

Under the Tree

“Ah, a cool summer’s breeze
I am possibly ready to sneeze
Better sit down on the bench!”

Said the little old wench
As she tightly held her thighs in a clench

Because that damned sneezing
Made her always queasy
And possibly a little uneasy
As to what might start to trickle
She started to giggle

“Oh, hurry up you old fool
And quickly sit down on that damned stool!”

“The ideal of calm exists in a sitting cat” Jules Renard

Caturday Poem

I am a tiger cat
Hear me roar!

My furry stripes
I am wearing proud
Sometimes picking a fight
‘Cause I like being loud

But when groomed and fed
And safely resting in bed
I am a cute little kitty
Without any hissy fitty

I am a soft kitty
Hear me purr
