Anecdote Time (again)

“As we grow older, our bodies get shorter and our anecdotes longer” Robert Quillen

Anecdote Time!

Never judge a book by its cover. A paperback can be just as entertaining as hardcover.

If you want to dwell in the past, buy yourself a time machine.

You have to learn how to walk before you can run. I found out that the hard way after my hip-surgery.

Looking into a mirror is like… Well, you obviously need to take a selfie!

Time, time, precious time, where have you gone? Don’t tell me, you lost your watch again?

In my youth, the grass was always greener, food tasted better and life was much happier… Then we woke up and put the dog out to pee.

Walking a mile in someone else’s shoes… Be damned sure they are the same size as your own ones!

Today, I woke up, the day was stormy, the skies were gray, my mind felt dull... Well, you can’t always expect to be in the tropics, now can you Dearie?

Don’t do as I do, do as I say! Apparently, you can get away with murder?

People who are smart, beautiful and talented… Really piss me off!

“I see red, always red” Gun Roswell

Red

The moon dashed across the
Red skies, peaking through the painted clouds
But alas, it had no

Time for shrouds, as it
Wanted to be out loud and proud
Shining through its dark side

It really had nothing to
Hide, not now not ever, even the astronauts
Had made their mark forever

Happily shining through the darkness
Laughing at those who dared to bark
No less but it too

Was open to all different
Types, as it had to hide its
Darker side for an eternity

“It’s been a hard days night” Gun Roswell

Workaday Seat

When the day at the office
Gets to the point, you could care less
The coffee cold and bitter
And you just want to escape the litter
Then suddenly in the corner of your eye
A perfect respite you spy
Just when you thought you were about to burn
The daily grind takes a better turn
Quickly, making your way
And laying your claim
On the armchair most comfortable
And it even has its own table!
Who said it was all but hard labour?
Now, be a dear and do me a favour
Run downstairs to the cafe
And get me a fresh pot of coffee?

Red

A slow eve in suburbia
The streets filled with peace as the
Day is ending and inhabitants

Are landing to their dwellings
After day so long, the feeling of
Strong almost gone and the

Time to lay down your
Hair is upon, just look outside, peep
Through the windows and doors

Let nature play this score
And your mind to rest restore before
Laying your head onto bed

Tonight

Red

Red around the horizon, does
It mean the sun is setting or
Arising? Does seem so surprising

It looks so neutral and
Red, but do you want to bet
Which time of the day

It really is, without looking
At the clock, and if i tell
You, will it shock you?

Neither

Red

There may not be a
Stop sign per say, clearly marking the
Go away, but when you

See it all painted in
The brightest of reds, then take the
Hint, it means no unwanted

Visitors, solicitors of any kind
Will step over to this property and
If that offends thee in

Any way, then hey, that
Is not really a problem for me
So do seek some elsewhere

Please

Red

Red berries for breakfast, red
Berries for lunch, maybe even some during
The break time, but none

For dinner, that is the
Spinner, eating only from the other palette
Rich foods and such, but

None too much, because it’s
Good to leave some room for dessert
Maybe even the rec berries?

Red

Red is the colour of
The sky when the sun is still
High when it starts to

Set, painting all the clouds
In it’s wake, knowing full well what
Is at stake, fighting its

Way, to stay, when its
Not supposed to remain but give room
To the moon to watch

Over the night skies, until
The time of the darkness is over
And the stars switch positions

Once again, letting the sun
Rule the daily light skies, till such
Time it needs to go

Again

“Today I am feeling so blue” Gun Roswell

Blue moon

The skies are blue as
Is the mind of a traveler, sitting
Wing side of a plane

Destination unknown, the dreamer looks
Outside the small window, the stars are
Dotting the pale night sky

What ever waits on the
Other side is just a guess, an
Adventure, but for now, content

To look at the soothing
Skies, before the sun rise, it all
Seems calm, before the storm
