Alphabets in poetry (three)

“Travel the wide world, wherever you may end up hurled, enjoy the life, the history, even the strife” Gun Roswell

A is for the Acropolis, the once metropolis
For the ancient profits and their students
Carved from stone and marble, considered a priceless jewel
After several millennia, the structure still standing
With thousands of people it’s internals flocking
Take a climb on a hot summer day, thousands of steps along the way
On top of the tallest mountain, you’ll find the precious fountain
It may not give you eternal youth, but it’s own unique truth

Alphabets in poetry (two)

“Coffee, never could say no to a single cup of the stuff, or a few more of them” Gun Roswell

C is for coffee so good and delightful
When you drink it it’s almost freight full
After one, there is the other, loosing count, then back to null
Getting hooked on the sweetest of drinks
Can be as mind blowing as letting the liquid sink
Coffee is the thing, which makes your heart want to sing
Drink it alone, drink it in company, drink it where ever you go

Alphabets in poetry (one)

“There is poetry in everything” Gun Roswell

“A doughnut a day, will make you slay?” Gun Roswell

D is for doughnuts never to pass by
They may be fattening and you’ll end up in a sigh
Just eat, enjoy, take another and smile
Tomorrow is another day for hardship and strife
Let the sugar and cream make you feel good inside
For sometimes it’s good to let it go and enjoy life

The Archway by the Sea

“Built to last, from the past to the future, and in the present we admire, the structure guiding us to the high seas” Gun Roswell

 The Archway by the Sea

A long, long time ago
A land, that had started to grow
Developing, building
Slowly growing
Into a great big giant
Of art and science
Architecture and ambience
There was peace among the inhabitants
No was nor unpleasantries
Everyone equal
But alas
There was no sequel
The forces of nature
Showed their envy and hatred
Wiping out all but one
Standing now, under the scorching sun
To remind the future generations
As nothing really
Lasts for ever
But a solitary reminder
Of days so much finer
The very archway
At the solemn sea
What is now left standing
Of the proud people so demanding
Is an archway,
By the sea

Apples like poetry

An apple a day, well something something” Gun Roswell

Apples like poetry

Apples are not oranges
Apples do not like porridge
Apples are round and red
Apples are sometimes read

Apples like poetry
Apples doe you well
Apples keep your teeth clean
Apples are great

Apples may be sour
Apples may be green
Apples can be flowers
Apples can be sweet

Apples keep you healthy
Apples provide vitamins
Apples look good
Apples taste great

Apples are good
Apples are fruit
Apples, yes you should
Apples are poetry

Ancient tech

“Going old school style can be so totally cool. The tech almost ancient, but still working! And that is just the best, nostalgia!” Gun Roswell

Ancient tech

Discarded, tech out of date
Software update, came too late
Ancient, in the eyes of youth
For collectors, an item smooth

Maybe still salvageable
To a mode more palpable
It may not be an “apple”
Most likely, with it
You can play scrabble

Do not throw away
Even if it does not play
Use it on full display
A reminder of ages past
And, that nothing,
Was meant to last

Always on my mind

“There can never be enough coffee” Gun Roswell

Always on my mind

Why is it, that each fleeting moment my mind only visits
The one thing, the one single on object explicit
Could it be that I am finally loosing it?

But the mere thought of you makes me feel so good
As if I could even go without any other thing, but you There’s no denying, my one and only love, I know it’s true

And when I finally get the stuff in my hands
This sensation is strong I can hardly stand
My head spinning, my legs wobbly, this was certainly not what I planned

But, when my lips meet with you
I know everything i anticipated was true
Coffee, I really love you, now and forever, we stick together like glue

Airfields in cornfields

Flying off to foreign lands or simply hovering above familiar land, take yourself to the airfield in the middle of no where and take flight” Gun Roswell

Airfields in cornfields

While visiting the side of the country
Where the lush green remains for eternity
The fields filled with produce as far as the eyes can see
Isn’t this totally the lace for anyone for a weekend to flee

Peddling, rowing, running or just walking
When al the nature’s offerings gently stalking
But then something completely different comes to view
In the middle of the fields with a very light hue

Shimmering in the bright summer’s sunlight
Your mind immediately starts to fantasise and then takes flight
And soon enough your body can make that come true too
Because you have just stumbled upon a small airfield designed for two

Jump in and on board
This short flight you really can afford
As soaring above the countryside for a while
Will totally put you in awe with a great big smile

Aches and Pains

“There is such thing as bad pain… and then, there is the constant nagging drilling ache which just won’t quit… will you get used to? Probably. Is it good to yield? You decide.” Gun Roswell

Aches and Pains

More, than a constant
Those feelings are present
Tiny nagging parts
Move, and someplace will smart
Aches, pains and cracks
No matter which way you take a turn
You can bet, somewhere, there’s a burn
Nagging, whining, complaining
No way of go letting
It is for forever now
Just wish there was a how
To rid of this, constant

A quiet ride

“On a horseback, on a road to nowhere” Gun Roswell

A quiet ride

Late night
A quiet ride
On a horseback
No destination set
Laid back feeling
A moment steeling
Along the coast
Air cool with frost
The view stunning
The last rays fading
Soon it is dark
No sounds,
Not even a bark
Steering my stead
Just that away
Straight ahead
Sand glistens
In the moon light
No one in sight
Which is fine
The whole world
Is mine
Moving along
This is the score
Just myself
And the horse
Life is good
All as it should

A little while later
Something stirs
It is me
Did I
Imagine it
Waking up
All is a blur
It was only
A dream so vivid
