“It is once again that time of the year, to go out there, into the wilderness, to check out the bounty and do the harvest of it all” Gun Roswell

Mushy Mushroomy
The daily trip around the familiar park
Usually the hight light of the very day
As was the quick dash to the local supermarket
To pick up some goodies for the evening fest
So, walking the usual route around the moat
No, I wasn’t looking for any kind of boat
Just taking a stroll in the afternoon’s warming sun
Because that is the most of my daily doze of fun
Strolling along, humming off key some old song
Which I had heard, apparently years go, or so
But who is counting anyway, as getting younger, well
Yeah, that is still a thing for us old folks to slay
But, as always, I digress, and never the less
What did I spot on the path side, mouth agape open wide
As so big was my surprise, of finding these big mushy things
Oddly shaped and slimy looking nature created beings
And then, what do I do?
Stopping right there in my very steps
Looking around like a psycho for the Feds
Then quickly as there is no one around
I dive down to the very slippery ground
Pull out a small bag I keep in my pocket
And start grabbing the mushy things out of their sockets
Soon enough the bag is completely full
I get up and start running like a fool
Because, oh boy! oh boy!
Today, thar will be served mushroom soup!

It’s not an exaggeration to say almost everyone believes they could one day write a book.

“The cat sat, in the middle of the road, staring, watching, keeping an eye on her domain, smart!” Gun Roswell

The cat in the middle of the street
The grey coloured cat, look at that
Staring us mere Hoomans, right in the eyes
“What on earth”, I huffed, “can she be up to?”
“Is she, the much talked about spy?”
The cat did not budge, not one inch, that runt
We tried to pass, twice, from left and then from the right
But nothing, no not one thing, made this cat twinge
So the only option now, would be reasoning? Meow?
“Hey there, little kitty cat, would you think we could possible pass?”
I frustrated then asked
The cat just stared at me, as if asking, where the heck is my fee
And as if understand the thinking, of this freakish feline, I replied
“Oh, of course, you want a reward, because you know
Keeping this street safe from all kind of beings awkward.”
Stating that was like stating the obvious, which I have a knack for
So before I realised what I was doing, I was headed towards the nearest store
Searching for the best thing, which I could make the guard kitty sing
I immediately spotted the cans of tuna, sitting in the stands
(Really? Did the shopkeeper and the cat have a secret deal?)
Happily after buying in bulk, back into the street I stalked
Seeing the cat there, watching, knowing, heck, most likely humming
How much of a sucker the poor Hoomans be
But hey, that is just fine for me, as the cats are doing a great job indeed
“Hey kitty,” I cooed slightly
With an open can of fishy smelling treat
I hoped and preyed this food would do the thing
And as I saw the grey coated cat saunter towards me
Carefully and slowly, finally stopping at my feet
The signal there was pretty clear:
“Ye shall pass, now that I have my catch!”
As if the cat would have said would it actually talk
So, now, watching the cat starting to eat
I quickly made my way across the very street
I had been granted access by one simple and tiny act
To give a thanks and a reward where it was totally apt

“It was supposed to be a regular day at the office, but when I arrived in the early morning hours, something totally odd had happened, and this is the story of that” Gun Roswell

An ordinary day with an ordinary morning, maybe?
When the alarm clock chimed, I slowly stirred and then, started to whine
It was way too dark and way too early, to get up and about, even with a try
But alas, this poor lass, could not start the complaint process just yet
Since it was, so early and the time, to get up from the comfortable bed
On the way out, there was a shout, just behind me, as I had once again, completely forgot
To take my pre-prepared lunch with me, for you see, I too, sometimes, do have to eat
Then without further ado, I punched the pedal to the metal to hurry myself to the streets
Because today, I had to get in early, like the worm and the birdy, you know that tales plot!
The day still beginning, and I really did not feel like singing, so just listening in
To the radio and the same old tunes, playing each day, when I was on my way
Little though, had I prepped for what awaited me on the log, when trying to find my parking spot
The scene in front of me unfolding, quite the visual spectacle, or so I am telling
Nothing short out of a breath, I suddenly halted on my very taken step
Glaring, gazing, totally amazing and in complete awe, of what it was that I saw
What ever the object up there hovering above in the still dark skies
Could be anything from a flying object to the obviously sun’s shine
What ever it was, is for the viewer of the image or the listener of this tale to decide
Because me, myself, and I am still staring at the very image with my mouth open wide
What ever happened there, in the early morning hours in that very parking lot
Well, it was what it was, and the rest, well, that is a tall tale to be told with a varied plot!
