Surviving, the horrid Monday

“Oh Monday, you are so totally cruel and always come uninvited into my life, what can i do to keep you at bay?“ Gun Roswell

The Monday morning had once again arrived
I know it because I can totally smell its pride
Raising the ugly head I now know far to well
And then, there is that, totally fowl smell

You to tempt me to kick your non too rounded arse
As this day, always turns into some odd kind of farce
But if I did not already have this headache
From merely thinking about you to arrive and me break

You always make me numb, avoid of all the fun
Lashing out to me, with something or another
As if this beginning of the week would not already be a struggle
The weekend gone and Friday nowhere in sight, bummer!

But, there is one thing, that could help me pull through
That one single and totally lovely and tasting full brew
The darkest of liquids and the greatest of sustenance
Ever devised by mankind, which has no pretence

It’s simply, well, just great
So go ahead, take a break
For this cup of stuff is no fake
Go, enjoy, your coffee, now!

Look, across the street, a place to sit?

“There is always something more interesting on the other side of the street” Gun Roswell

The red bench totally beckoned for the traveler to take a step across the street and make themselves a seat out of the hand carved  reddish beat, but yeah it was totally screaming while beaming there, waiting for someone to take the step, closer to it, take a load off, and for a while sit, a perfect fit, for anyone appreciative of a bright and happy colour, spreading the aura all around of cheer, and those having taken the seat even for a while will most certainly leer long after the fact.

The Cat, a contemplating on, Life

The cat sitting in the middle of the street? Well? It can mean several things really – waiting, wasting time, contemplating life, or just sitting, just because they can” Gun Roswell

The cat who sat, in the middle of the street, someone even pleading, for them to move away, as traffic would most likely cause some dismay, alas, the cat who there calmly sat, could not have cared any less, because they had a bigger plan, the bigger picture to see, because this was no ordinary cat, whom simply on the streets sat, rather someone with many philosophical thoughts, their mind in a constant swirl of all the things in there hurled, thinking about life, the passersby, even the faint smiles given to them on a few occasion, and so, without moving much, the cat who on the street sat, kept on plotting and planning, the life as we know it scanning, taking serious notes, and then posting those, in the galactic wide board, for the rest of the life forms, to make a note of, a warning of sorts, of what the Hoomans of the blue globe, were doing, without any kind of good form.

Life, reflected, on the beach

“Life, death, life, things that nature, always come to mind, when sitting in absolute silence, by the seaside” Gun Roswell

Life is but a dream.
Or so, it could quite easily seem.
When seated at the soft and sandy beach.
The calming blue waters gently flapping against the shores.
Some would say the silence and the calm would be a bore.
But for those of us waiting to simply ponder about all the wonders around.
Well, noting could be farther from the truth so sound
As both older people and some of the youth, need that special time, feeling fine.
Simply, by sitting down and letting only the mind.
Wander.

The lighthouse at then end of the pier

“Walking to the very end of the pier, well, look around, you don’t have to be a seer, to predict this outcome!” Gun Roswell

Predictions of a good view? Reserved, for the chosen few?

Hardly those as at all, as anyone could walk down the long way, finding the same display, as the rest of us could see gleaming from the seashore, never a bore, is the greeting for us in store.

The blues across the horizon, whether the sun or moon is on the rising.
Whatever the time of the day, it does not matter as this, this is the best place.

The end of the pier, is where the sights so dear are seen.
So, why would anyone want to go anywhere else at all?

Well, simply because, this place is not reachable by most.
And maybe the seaside is not even your very special thing.

But whatever the case is, whether you love or maybe even hate it.
Just try it once, take that walk down the long pier and who knows.

Maybe you too, will become a believer of the moon, the sun and even
The view at the end of the pier.

The water’s edge?

“Spending my day by the waters edge, sitting on the ledge, pondering about life, and the is all just so very fine” Gun Roswell

The day quite warm and skies above clear, without any kind of stormy weather to fear
Taking the long scheduled daily stroll, towards a special destination never, ever dull
That certain one place, where time almost always stays, perfectly still, and the only chill
Is from the cool and calming breeze, blowing inward land there from the high seas
Which lets you finally breathe with so much more ease, than how the inland feels
And as you make your way, to the very end of the pier and your eyes will their claim lay
Onto the blueness surrounding the over all wild scenery, the wide waters and the skies
You will know immediately as you take in the total sum of the sight, you will want to stay
In this calming sootiness of a cocoon, forever and then maybe even one more day

Early morning, just around sunrise

“Surprise! There is sunshine in September too, way up North, alas, sometimes, it takes a while for it to rise” Gun Roswell

In a hurry, just, like always, so also, this morning
Trying to beat the traffic and get to the seaside before the dawning
To watch, experience and really enjoy, a spectacle, specially arranged by mother nature
But I am so worried, I will be belated
Alas, as I suspected, the time is not, on my side
As I am trying, towards the goal, as fast as possible, to drive
But, since the other drivers, seem to have, the exact same agenda
I worry, that all this hurry, is only going to leave me in one big surrender
And soon enough, my fears are materialized, as all the cars, come, to a full stop
As if by some great plan, they all halt, right there on the dot
Is it a red light or some other type of strife, I wonder just then
Swearing, cussing, under my breath, hoping, wishing, not too much time to spend
In this state of suspension, my face, in a constant animation
Feelings rising, emotions getting spicy
And then, just as all hope had been cast out the window
The line of vehicles gradually start to move
From the rear view window, I can see the water flow
Closer, and closer I slowly like a snail approach
The sun, rising, the reddish glow, reminiscent of a torch
As I am finally reaching the spot, I quickly find the parking lot
Rushing out of the car, I am running, even if it’s not so far
The pier, where all the viewers are now
In awe, admiring the reflected glow
Of the sun rising in this Autumn morning
Could not have asked for a better view for this dawning

Fun, under the sun

“Beach ward bound on this perfect day, at least, in my dreams” Gun Roswell

When the early morning sun beckons
For a day of total fun I reckon
It’s time to put aside
All the bad thoughts and worries

And outside, take a ride in a hurry
Because this life will pass in a flurry
So better grab on to the existing moment
Stop yourself from being in this torment

Let it all go and listen to the warm wind blow
Then jump on the wagon a steer towards the flow
This day is rare, there are none to spare
Just go there, wherever your mind wants to flare

Spend the day on the beach if that is why our seek
And do not come back until you’ve cut yourself some slack!

“Fun, fun, fun, under the smiling sun”
So, why don’t you, join in said fun?!?

White sandy beach

“The beach beckons on a sunny day, just on the sand to lay” Gun Roswell

The seaside
In the early morning
Sun not yet set to scorching
Sand, totally warm and white
Water so very clear
Tip a toe in
Maybe take a short swim
After all that
Simply relax
Lay, on your back
Life is a beach after all
That, is just a matter of fact

In the calm of a very small harbour

“The small spaces are the most comfortable ones, with little if no people present, and so, there is always calm without the puns” Gun Roswell

The small harbour waiting for the daily dose of people, on their way out to the great seas, perhaps some fishing to do or simply, for a leisure cruise, no matter what the purpose, the early morning always means some hassle. And then, the traffic jam is gone and left alone, are those few vessels, whom did not have any takers, at least, not today, but if they are lucky, then tomorrow someone them will be picking, for a ride out there to the lasting waves.

But, if you are not really a sea farer, not really, but you love the seaside, then why don’t you arrive to the harbour, just after the rush hour, fully prepared mind you, with a picnic basket in tow, even if you do not plan out there to row. The harbour life can be as much fun to mere observe of life, as getting out there in the open air of the waters, because a lot of stuff is going around all over the place in a small harbour area supposedly quiet, if you keep your eyes and ears peeled, and then interesting people, tall tales and other kinds of things, you me just be able to see and hear, and that is happening all in the calm of the small harbour environment.
