Welcome To Finland’s Midsummer!!!

“At least there is no snow on the ground, yet!” Gun Roswell

Not creature stirred
Not even a mouse
Vision getting blurred
Or just an illusion
If you come to the conclusion
And dare to leave the house
Heed this warning
The rain come a down pouring
Soon you will be scorning
The streets empty and deserted
The barbeque outside forgotten and defeated
Shivering in ten plus degrees
Wishing you had paid the fees
Of a nice vacation abroad
But your plan was flawed
Planning on spending
The day never ending
At home in stead
Spending the Finnish carnival
An event most formidable
Even though holier than thou
Or the proverbial sacred cow
That was all but a dream
You hear yourself scream
If you’d only been so lucky
But now feeling yucky
Your midsummer
What a bummer
Surely a nightmare to remember

So what really happened:

Staycation – Summer in Suburbia (once again)

“Is this the end of a vacay? nope, but soon there will be more of the same!” Gun Roswell

Soft, fluffy, made by nature
Concrete, metal, made by creatures
Coming together in an image
A compilation quite vivid

Staycation – Summer in Suburbia (monochrome)

The forrest is a cool place to visit, plenty of them all around” Gun Roswell

A vintage shot from way back when?
It seems to be repeating
Every now and again
Could it be, from the future then?

Staycation – Summer in Suburbia (reflected)

“Sometimes, the need to take some time to reflect is upon, even during a staycation” Gun Roswell

Summer, clouds reflected
Daily routines, neglected
Mind and body effected
By the big yellow light
Shining, high up in the skies

Staycation – Summer in Suburbia (more)

“A game of mini-golf? Well, why not?” Gun Roswell

Summer fun in the near by shopping centre
Bring your mom, dad and even the family spectre
Walk, hike or drive your car
It’s really not that very far

But heed this warning who ever you are:
Once the place of madness you enter
You may end up on a shopping bender
Give away your money and shirt
And later, with a big bill of hurt!

Staycation – Summer in Suburbia (again)

“You gotta try out the museums, plenty of them around the hood!” Gun Roswell

Visiting, a local library or museum
Even, if it’s not so usual for this season
Someone, may call it treason
Retorting, ‘stay outdoors you silly beeson’
But live and learn your history
Other wise you may not have a story!

Staycation – Summer in Suburbia (continued)

“You go, check out what’s all around you, close to the home you normally dwell in!” Gun Roswell

It is the time, for playing games
It is the time, for naming names
It is the time, to lay our claims
It is the time, which after nothing remains
Ever the same
This is the summer’s game

Staycation – Summer in Suburbia

“Staying home for a vacation? What a novelty?!?” Gum Roswell

Summer days in suburbia
Might end up in utter hysteria
With neighbours, staring at you
Simply, because there is nothing to do

Staycation – A Summer in Suburbia

“Sometimes, you don’t have to leave home to get on a trip, as there is plenty to explore all around the hood” Gun Roswell

When exploring all the unknown places
Watching for any unexplored traces
What ever may come, we’ll gladly embrace it

A lazy day in the shade

“The sun is hiding, behind the clouds, like a soft shroud, shading those below” Gun Roswell

Sunshine, with a few fluffy clouds passing by
Sitting under a tree, letting out a sigh
Down the valley, up the mountains
The shadows are bouncing

The guardians of the palace
Keeping an eye on the chalice
A lazy gaze cast over the passer by
Stern look warning “don’t you even try”

Time is almost standing still
Nothing to do but chill
Another lazy day soon ending
To the evening light blending

Vacation time
The best of times
