Seated in Samos

“Seat by the busy street or seat, by the seashore” Gun Roswell

Seated in Samos

Running around, in a small town
Too busy to see, and everywhere to be
Never time to stop, to really take a load off
But the exhaustion eventually catches on
And there is no more ways of staying strong
Then it’s time, and what’s about to happen ain’t no crime

Pick a seat, any of them looks really neat
Just at the local cafe close to the water’s edge
This is the place to a respite pledge
Order some juice or coffee maybe sample the local toffee
Feel the energy returning, the tired gears again churning
Soon to the streets you may want to seek
Just remember, to sometimes, take a load off on a seat

Seated under the shade

“Just because, it’s a seat”

1

Seated under the shade

A stroll in the heat of the hottest of summer
Looking, searching, for that perfect place to recover
Taverns and restaurants, all of them are beckoning
A soothing and cold drink, for this utter thirst for lessening

But alas, there is only one place ahead
The one, in the nicest of shades
And there is where I will spend
The rest of this day, until the end

Old Town Respite

“Because it is a seat”

Old Town Respite

Sit down, slowly
Have a rest, boldly
In the old town, it’s the best
No need, for any kind of stress

After all, it’s Sunday, the time for less

A seat to sit on

“I don’t generally like running.
I believe in training by rising gently up and down from the bench”
Satchel Paige

A seat to sit on

I was looking for
A bench to sit on
What I hoped to score
Something close to a lawn
To lay my tired self
On a softer shelf

Then I saw it
The bench, made of stone
When I tried to sit
I felt it to my bones
Too hard for a fit!

Moving forward
I found one, made of wood
Maybe it wasn’t hard
Rather suitably good
Too soft for a fit!

So once again
I had to complain
But I knew, the right seat
Was just in reach
I just had to seek

A little while longer
As I moved along
The feeling now stronger
I knew it wouldn’t be long
I was close to finding
As I saw the metal shining

I finally found it
A bench made of metal
For me to sit
Soft as a petal
A purr-fect fit

Sunny side on the Bench

“When I was a kid, the only way I saw movies was from the back seat of my family’s car at the drive-in” Forest Whitaker

Sunny Side on the Bench

On the sunny side of the bench
No option of getting drenched

Enjoying the long, warming rays
In these unworried and lazy days

Before the days are done
Soaking in the healing sun

With closed eyes this moment
Like an image in my mind burnt

Queen Size Throne

“A throne fit for a Queen (of all kinds)” Gun Roswell

Queen Size Throne

A throne of magnificent proportions
Proportions, so huge, they would fit
Fit, any type of person who would sit
Sit, on this throne so great
Great, gorgeous, what ever the word
Word, to describe this glorious seat
Seat, fit for any kind of queen
Queen, from any country or court
Court, or maybe even a drag size queen
Queen, to be worshiped accordingly
Accordingly, as she sits on this thrown
Thrown, only fit for a queen of all
All, people, under her rule
Rule, until the day she can no longer
Longer, be their queen and then
Then, another one will be chosen
Chosen, to sit on this thrown
Thrown fit only, for a queen

Seats on the sunny side

“Take a load of, sit down, enjoy, the sun” Gun Roswell

Seats on the sunny side

When the sun shines
Shines, so totally fine
Fine, is the whole wide world
World, open, out going, bright
Bright, as the sun shining
Shining, high up in the clear blue skies
Skies, so cool and blue
Blue, the great hue in contrast

Contrast to the colour filled ground
Ground, on to which a few seats
Seats, to sit on for rest
Rest, to enjoy the clear blue skies and sun
Sun, which under it is time to rest
Rest on the seats set
Set, under the sunny side of the world
World, which enjoys the season
Season of summer
Summer, when it’s time to relax
Relax, on these seats
Seats, on the sunny side of life

A Seat in Cyprus

A single seat?
Or one designed for two?
In this heat
Who could want to be glued
To someone else’s skin
With clothes this thin

Seat in the Rain

Night falls
Time stalls
Rain falls
Time towards
The home to hall
This bench
Was none too comfy
Anyways

Seat Concrete

Making, a comfy seat
From a bench made out of concrete
May be, an experience too concrete
But never mind,
I will still, take a seat
