“It’s raining cats and dogs!”
Caturday with Mr Diesel and Vänster the Cat
Another Saturday
But we call it Caturday
For this popular dog and his friend the cat
Whether they may sit or just lay out flat
Call them siblings and rivals
Because where ever the food falls
You can rest a sure
In a furry blur
Both of them will leap
And fall into a munching heap
But, when it’s time to play
You should also stay
If you cannot be a participant
Just sit around and chant
The dog and cat will do their part
And you can click on your camera real smart
Finally when all is said and done
And the evening comes to place the fun
It is time to lay on the sofa
Dog, cat and even Rosa
Let the sleep catch you all
Where ever we may fall

Office Home and Away for Seat Sunday
A seat in the sun
Office life, filled with fun
But wouldn’t you rather
Dig around and discover
What secrets are hidden
Even though it may be forbidden
At least during office hours?

Dark Glasses
Can’t stand the flashes
Oh paparazzi be cursed
Because,
I am forced
To wear these dark glasses
Before,
My fifteen minutes of fame
Passes

Rear-view Mirror
Trying to act casual
Trying to act cool
After all,
There is nothing unusual
And nothing, like a fool
Than, in the middle of traffic
Stopping midway
For a quick snap it
After all
This is what all
Self conscious hip people
Do these days!
So snap, snap, snap away
A selfie in progress

“It's a cute little studio apartment that has just what I need: a bed, a couch, a table, a chair, and a coffee-maker.” ― Shawn Lukas
Dreaming in Black and White for Seat Sunday
In technicolour dreaming
You sometimes wake up screaming
Do not struggle or fight
Turn off all colours
And soon, the soothing
Of Black and White
Will dim down the lights

Poetry, Day Ten: Future
Could it be our last day of Intro to Poetry already?! Let’s keep our spirits up by focusing on whatever it is that’s coming next. Whether it’s about tomorrow, next October, or the year 2345, let today’s poem be inspired by your vision of the future. (Fears, hopes, and plans are equally acceptable, of course. As are robots!)
“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves” William Shakespeare
Road to Nowhere
The future
Now uncertain
When removed is
The safety curtain
No time
For bloopers
Nor reruns
Used is
The last dime
For a trip
To the sun
First
Summer
Then fall
No bummer
Just a ball
Future
Unfolds
We are
On a road
To nowhere
Travelling fast
Forgetting
The past
It would not
Have lasted
Anyway
Future
Unknown
Or so
We were told
Never mind
Just be kind
Your place
You will find
Past, present
All in imperfect
Time still
Well spent
Now
Heads up
Finish
Your cup
Legs, arms
Tucked inside
Let the slide
Your way
Down guide

“In nine lifetimes, you’ll never know as much about your cat as your cat knows about you” Michel de Montaigne
For Caturday
I still remember
That day in September
When a furry bundle of joy
Appeared at my door
And with a loud roar
Shouted: Ahoy!
Over thirty years ago
With four more in tow
With fullest of force
Changing the course
Of my entire life
Without much strife

Tiger Cat for Caturday
I am a tiger cat
Hear me roar!
My furry stripes
I am wearing proud
Sometimes picking a fight
‘Cause I like being loud
But when groomed and fed
And safely resting in bed
I am a cute little kitty
Without any hissy fitty
I am a soft kitty
Hear me purr
