What kind of monsters do I find

Triumph!
I made it
Past thirty
On my way back
Crossing the track
I hit
Forty!
Winning an uphill battle
Trying to avoid the cattle
But then I heard the rattle
Side tracked
I backed
To the curve
Only to observe
A shot tire
Oh I was so
In dire!
But an idea emerged
I tracked down the heard
And back in the race in a surge
Into the goal
Victorious soul
Cows in front
My bike a chariot
Quite the stunt
Which would impress
Even Harriet!
What a triumph
Indeed!
