“The judge told me to approach the bench. We were in a park”Jarod Kintz,

Painted Red

The only bright spot
In the entire parking lot
In the midst of suburbia
Causing a minor hysteria
The colour of reddest red
Some say, it joy may spread

Carefully trying to sit
Just to see, if it is a fit
After I little while
I started to smile
The colour seemed to be
A perfect choice for me

And soon enough…
As far as the eye could see
All the red painted seats
Were occupied to the extreme

There is something to be said
Of the colour red
It never leaves you cold
Yes, and I too was sold

Just Another Fabulous Sunrise, Part One

Just another ordinary weekday?
No, it’s a fabulous sunrise day!

The gorgeous rising sun
What could be more fun
Lifting spirits up high
Almost feels like I could fly
What more could be expected
The good spirits soon deflected
For no reason
In this season
People are smiling again

The Good Old Times

In response to a Facebook challenge for “photos from the past” by Jenni Valtonen

“Say goodbye to the oldies, but goodies, because the good old days weren’t always good and tomorrow ain’t as bad as it seems.” Billy Joel

The Good Old Times

In the good old times…

Everything was cheaper
The sky was much bluer
The summers were longer
The winters were colder
The children played nicer
The women were prettier
The men more handsome
The songs were chansons
The television shows were better
Complaints were written in letters
The world was wider
Everyone drank cider

And over all…
Everyone had more fun

In the good old times!

The Erechtheion Temple Priestesses

The Erechtheion temple priestesses, Acropolis, Athens, Greece

Acropolis

Four ladies of the temple
Each other do they resemble
The guardians on the porch
Standing tall with their torch
In this place of worship
For the Greeks of ancient

Charioteer of Delphi, Delphi, Greece

Delphi

The boy with a chariot
With a look so serious
Horses as beasts of burden
He may be a rich man’s servant
But driving with fervency
Loving his chariot passionately

“Share each Friday, on your own blog, one photo…or maybe even a gallery of some of your favorite photos that you have taken during the week, that make you smile or that was a great photo capturing opportunity…anything really! And as photographers are often known to say, “The best camera is, the one that you have with you!”

“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” Ansel Adams

The highest tower
Like a tall flower
The setting sun deflecting
Last rays on metal reflecting
Silver, yellow and red
Nothing more to be said
This most gorgeous vision
Selection done by decision
For your viewing pleasure
So, do, value this treasure

“There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.” Jo Walton

No Ordinary Sunset

Reflecting surfaces
Free of disturbance
Shadows on the walls
Where ever light falls
Red as the colour
Always a stunner

Up in the tower
Feeling empowered
Staring at the horizon
Evermore surprising
The setting of the sun
Was a true home run

MUNDANE MONDAY CHALLENGE #32

“This is a challenge created to find beauty in almost everything. The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.”

“Creativity is piercing the mundane to find the marvelous” Bill Moyers

Heavy Metal

Up the stairs
Down the stairs
clicking and clacking of heals
On the heavy metal seals
If you’re running fast
The echoes will last
All the way up
Or way down

Abracadabra!
How well do you know your algebra?
It is as easy as one, two, three
Even before you can boot your PC
The carriage of comfort
Has lifted you upwards
Your destination dead ahead
Nothing more left to be said
