Coffee made me do it!

“Dark as night, sweet as sin? What is that I hear calling me? Coffee!” Gun Roswell

Today I went off the edge
I didn’t even take a pledge
I pranced around like a Fred Astaire
The others looking with a stare
Laughing out very loud
And feeling extremely proud
An old tune from years ago
Nothing to stop the show
I started singing that tune
Not being any kind of prune
Why this happened you may ask
It wasn’t anything from a flask
Though I have one excuse to acquit
The Coffee made me do it!

The World exists only in a Cup of Coffee

“There is a time for coffee and that time is anytime possible” Gun Roswell

The day, started, just like, any other day
With a steaming cup, of the hottest and darkest liquid, to save
This, tiny soul and eventually, the world

Staring, into the still silence of the whirlwind
Also, still knowing, that something, would soon begin
And, that it, would most likely, change the world

Smelling, inhaling, sipping, enjoying, the total bliss
No matter how much or how often, cannot believe this exists
The total euphoria, I would like to share with the world

But, before all that was going to happen
I am, into this, elixir of life, with full force, tapping
So, for now, the world, will just have to wait
Until the coffee filled blissful state to be hurled

I, really am, Coffee!?!

“I have finally become one, with the one sure and certified thing, Coffee” Gun Roswell

It has become to that point in my life, when I have started chaining. It’s not about the puberty or menopause or me turning into a dog or cat. Rather after all the amounts caffeine been consumed over the so, so many years past in my life time, I realise at last, what and whom I finally so totally am.

Coffee.

I have become the one thing, I could have never imagined in my whole lived life. But now, that I am slowly changing into a dark and sometimes a candy sugary coating wearing tall order of a glass, mostly cold but sometimes warm, lukewarm mostly kind of a thing. It’s the interior really a dead give away in my case.

Coffee.

But I am not for everyone’s taste, not by far. Mostly, nobody likes me, with or without the sugar coating. But it does not really matter, because I myself, I love coffee, and being one with the one sure thing which has never ever let me down in all the years lived and consumed. Well, I could not have chosen any better, when becoming one with the one thing.

Coffee.

Looking for some Coffee!

“Not a coffee shop in sight! Oh the plight! No morning nor noon caffein so how am I supposed to keep on living?” Gun Roswell

Heading into the streets
Stumbling on my wobbly feet
But not to worry
I was in no hurry?
Luckily someone
Had left the seat out
And yes, it is that of a coffee shop!

Coffee, Coffee, Coffee and some more Coffee… yes please!

“Waddaya mean I had too much coffee today? (Trips, stumbles, does not fall, while reaching for the next cup)” Gun Roswell

Since the dawn of time when humans first dropped down from the trees and started walking, their first trip must have been to the closest Starbucks for some coffee.

Remember the classic film “2001: A Space Odyssey” and first scene where the prehistoric man is bewildered when a big black block lands before him? What if instead of the monolith a giant cup of coffee would have landed? I think we would have evolved much faster and would be more advanced today if that would have been the case 😉

But let’s move forward in time and to present day.

I have dropped in a quite a few suggestions (read request) in our office “suggestion box“: Add to the list of necessary office supplies an IV drop filled with coffee. Each worker would then be hooked into the IV every morning and during the day; a dedicated person would circulate around the office and re-fill the empty ones.

But seriously, coffee is the one good drug that keeps this world up and running. Here is an example of an ordinary working day:

1st cup: 06.00 AM: Eyes barely open reaching for my glasses on the night stand sniffing for that precious aroma. Nothing yet! Half running downstairs praying the automated coffee maker has not suffered from any kind of electrical stroke during the night and my coffee would be there waiting for me.

It is! Hallelujah let the day begin!

2nd cup: 06.20 AM: Morning ablutions behind me, standing fully clothed ready to take off to work, gulping the second cup of coffee while reaching for the door.

3rd cup: 07.00 AM: In the office, turning on the coffee machine before even reaching for the lights in the darkened office. Impatiently waiting while the machine is making its morning sounds before I can insert my coffee capsule into the damned thing and get my coffee (Note: It’s a double shot just to make sure I don’t run out before I can tackle today’s pile of work).

4th to 6th cup: 08.00 to 11.00 AM: A steady flow of “double shots” for each cup to keep up the pace of the day and a smile on my face.

7th cup: 11.30 AM: A cup of coffee to complement a tasty lunch, of course 😉

8th to 9th cup: 12.00 PM to 02.00 PM: One for each scheduled meeting for the afternoon.

10th (to 11th) cup: 02.15 PM: It is finally time for the afternoon coffee break! (In reality this is a very large cup so guess it counts for two or more…).

12th cup: 03.00 PM: Last squeeze (and cup of coffee) before the day’s work is done!

13th cup: 04.00 PM: Time to leave for home, one more for the road…

14th to Umpteenth cup: 05.00 PM to Midnight: After a full day of work, I managed a full hour of exercise, went grocery shopping and vacuumed the whole house. Albeit I was so perked up from all the coffee I managed to get to bed early (around 2 AM) after cleaning a few closets and taking the dog out three times during the evening for a brisk walk and of course, having a cup of coffee here and there; P

The lesson learned: There is no such thing as too much coffee!

By the way, last time I had my yearly check up at the doctors, the conclusion was: there was far too much blood in my caffeine circulation!

Winter Morning with another Cup of Coffee

“There is always time for coffee, morning, noon, day or night time, it’s all just fine, if you really enjoy the dark liquid kind and to have a cup of it, when you see fit” Gun Roswell

Winter Morning with another Cup of Coffee

There is always room for coffee, in the stomach, someone said, even if it was some other time a clock, usually not associated with the fine sustenance of a dark liquid, but if one was prepared, for the full effect of the stuff, then drinking a cup or two, would suit, no matter the hour, as long as the face did not go sour, simply because the lack of coffee, was ever present, so, better satisfy the urge and have that drink of it, the coffee, in a cup, or a mug or even jug it directly from the pot!

Because believe it or not, those rules and regulations for sleeping and consumables, was most likely created by someone who hated the stuff, both coffee and well, food and perhaps even people, as all of us, are mostly individuals and so, enjoying the good stuff, coffee, does not have to be at any given hour, even midnight will do simply fine.

Friday and the Cup of Coffee

“The day of free, well Friday at least, is upon us and what better way to celebrate than with a nice cup of coffee, right?“ Gun Roswell

Friday and the Cup of Coffee

Friday, is here and so, a giant enormous cup of coffee is poured, simply because, it is the best way, to celebrate, the fact, that the weekend is upon, even if the day itself and the coffee, really do not make any sense, but then again, coffee, goes with everything and nothing, and if I feel like it is the very thing, to be used for some minor celebratory action? Well, then, who will stop me?

So, now that it is all settled, I too, will settle, with my feet up, without too much of a huff or puff, and watch the weekend silently descend upon my very self, of course, enjoying my big cup of the finest organic suspension ever devised and that is all I am going to do, over this weekend of free, and if some of you disagree, feel free, to sue me!

The smell of sweet Coffee

“Coffee, by any other name” Gun Roswell

The smell of sweet Coffee

That, sweetest of smells
Myself, totally sells
Oh, let’s no longer dwell
Or at each other hatefully yell

But go get, what’s at the end of, that rainbow, which looks and smells, so adorable

Because, all I know for sure
Is that, the world go for a hurl
My hair would wind into curls
If I don’t get my cup of pure

Gold, dark, sustenance
Made of the finest materials
The smell so sweet and extravagant
It gives me the soul reason for existence

Coffee, by any other name, would smell as sweet

Coffee makes the world go around

“Coffee, one large cup, please” Gun Roswell

Coffee makes the world go around

Coffee turns the world
When on its axel it is hurled
Dark fine liquid in it’s veins
The oceans and lands stains

Coffee makes the world
Sustaining its living herds
Life as we know it turns
Each day because of this miracle cure

Coffee is the world
Life each day due to it churns
Every single thing it’s praise sings
And peace on earth with every cup brings

Life’s a drag, but coffee helps — always!

“When all else fails, go to, coffee — you cannot go wrong with coffee, ever!” Gun Roswell

Life’s a drag, but coffee helps — always!

When you’re feeling sad, and life, really drags
Drags you, towards the end of the precipice
Precipice, where you now stand, looking down
Down, now, seems to be the only option
Option, because you are at the end of your rope
Rope, which now, seems so narrow and short
Short, as the fuse, you finally lit
Lit, and that, was the single and only fire left
Left, from the box of those cursed matches
Matches, all gone, gone, never coming back, like the last
Last, drop of coffee, that precious coffee, left
Left, in the now empty, hollow, sad pot
Pot, which once contained the only lifesaving liquid
Liquid, which was the only necessity to survive
Survive, it all seems such a waste now
Now, that I am standing here, here, on this, lonely ledge
Ledge, of the edge, of the verge, of my own sanity
Sanity, now totally and completely lost, because, I, have lost
Lost, the single most precious thing in the world
World, which from, I will now be, off of hurled
Hurled, into the dark abyss, of nothingness
Nothingness, because I simply, and honestly, have nothing left…

“Hey, here is your cup as promised. Hot, black, just like you like it!”

“Thanks!”

I smile, at the friendly offer, and take the cup into my cold hands. A sip, it feels so good! I lean back and sigh, in contentment this time. The warmth of the cup against my shaking hands, slowly calming me down, and I stop shaking. As I continues sipping, the dark liquid, let it fill my insides, I know that I am safe now and I could not be, happier!
