Autumn Lane

By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With summer’s best of weather And autumn’s best of cheer” Helen Hunt Jackson

Autumn Lane

The view from my window
Almost like a suburban meadow
Nature growing wild and free
Only a glimpse of the road I see
The pathway to our house
Narrow and more fitting for a mouse
Black asphalt with a touch of green
Surrounded by colours more gorgeous
Than I ever seen
Mirror mirror on the wall
Which of the seasons
Is the prettiest of them all
Why Autumn of course
Such a nature’s force

Autumn Leaves in Close-up

When the nature has shed
Summer’s green
The colours of red
Is all that is seen
Leaves and berries
Even the cherries
Shining brightly
So tread lightly
When stepping into nature

Autumn vibes 2

Autumn vibes

Scenic waterside

The waters filled with all kinds of flying creatures
Carefully approached them and they’ll let you in on all their cool features
Swimming acrobatics, splashing the waters, diving for fish
Dancing in unison, grooming one and other, begging for a reward you certainly won’t miss
Row boats with fishers and bench filled onlookers amused bathing
Spotting that one great moment in the seasonal warm weather lazy
Nature, animals and human a like
Are enjoying the moment in this colorful day divine
Autumn’s gift for one more day
To make the best effort of nature before winter makes it’s way

Crops

Corn, berries, apples oh my
Fruits and veggies of all of them kind
Autumn harvest is at its best
Now is the time to pick up the best
Pick them, store them, preserve them for later
You will soon too be a very happy eater
Maybe go to the forest for a moment or two
Track down the mushrooms popping out of the blue
Finally prepared with all these nature’s given goodies
And over the winter time you will run smoothly

Day on a Farm 4

Day on a Farm 4

“This, is the Finnish version of Tardis?
Has anyone seen the Doctor around then?”

“Dr who?”

Yes, Dr Who.”

The question was thrown in the air
Seemed likely and only too fair
After all, a phone booth, in the middle of a field
Who else did you really expect to see?

Day on a Farm 3

Day on a Farm 3

Great open wide, makes you just wanna smile
Looking at the endless waves of crops, which never seem to stop
Multiple in brand as in colour, and even their sense of odour
This is my stop for the day, and I may even wanna longer stay
Or just maybe, for good

Day on a Farm 2

Day on a Farm 2

Old school farm house, coloured in fire engine red
This sturdy large built thing, is definitely no ordinary shed
It was certainly built, at the time, way back when
The builders, most likely farm hands, sparing no labour then
Built to last, to here from her past
Even extensions on her, layer up one layer
It may not be a pigsty or a cowshed
But modernized for the here and now instead
Loving it just the same, and soon, it will get some fame

Day on a Farm 1

This, tiny car, took us so far
Into this place, we are now gaping at, our mouths ajar
It’s a beautiful and undisturbed place
Almost as if taken out of time and space
Luscious green are the fields
Filled with multiple crops which the earth shields
And we did not even have to click our heels
To get to this state of bliss
Only venture out here into the country side
Into this space oh so open wide
And now, we are able to feel, just oh so fine

Harvest Bees

“Gathering nectar from the flowers in the garden, quite smart” Gun Roswell

Harvest Bees

When the day begins
The garden alive, almost like spring
The birds in the trees sing
Their song, most likely, of the pending fall
As they sit and sing, in the trees tall
Sitting, in my solemn seat
Watching, the life on display, such a treat
With the smells and monotonous sounds
Everywhere, to be found

And then, comes, the annoying buzzing
As if someone started, really loud humming
Breaking, the calming routine of it all
Just as I, was thinking, the time had stalled
They are so loud, even if their bodies are quite small
They fly by, really, really fast
Like some kamikaze planes, from the past
And finally landing, onto the flowers pretty
Suckling in, all the nectar, really quickly
Clearly, the harvest time, for our winged friends
As their hive, on this precious food source, depend
Gathering it all ,with professional precision
Then bringing it back, for the queen’s decision
As to whom shall be rewarded, with the nectar of gods
That scene would indeed, be, an interesting thing, to blog

Up an down

“Stairs, like life, take you up, and down” Gun Roswell

Up an down

Sometimes going up, really fast, two steps at the time
Feeling so light and fine, face plastered with a smile
Other times, slumping down, hardly one step, with shaky legs
And a large, and topping that, a distorted, saggy frown
