Winter Flashback (2)

“It’s snowing, in May!” Gun Roswell

Winter Flashback

Behind the trees

Behind the trees
I can clearly see
A tiny cottage peaking
From behind the snow seeking
Someone to rent it
For the summertime legit
Even though it may appear
That May is here
But the snowy scenery
Tells a completely different story
But not to worry
The forecast is strong
All though it might be wrong
But the promise of spring
And summer to follow
Do you really think
It’s just a wish so hollow
You dare not frolic
Like it’s warm and sunny
Ain’t nothing funny
Running in shorts and flip flops
As even the hare hops
Over the spring of spring!

Winter Flashback (1)

“It’s snowing, in May!” Gun Roswell

Winter Flashback

On the snowy tracks

The sun on my warming back
As I walk in someone else’s tracks
Through the icy winds of winter
Even though it’s springtime
As the snow returned with a vengeance
Making its final stance
Before melting away before summer
Leaving us all feeling the bummer
In our flip flops and shorts
But I also take my stand and snort
Hell has frozen over
But I can still see the clovers
Sunshine and blue skies
Even the tiniest of birds fly
As it is the month of May
And soon, the warm weather is here to stay
(Until July, when we most likely get another bout of snow!)

Some kind of Grass (4)

“The grass is always growing, no matter what” Gun Roswell

Some kind of Grass

Seat on the grass

A small size seat
On the grass so neat
Soon to be devoured completely
Into the growing grass so neatly
There is no time to react
Just accept the simple fact
Grass always grows
Every single where!

Some kind of Grass (3)

“The grass is always growing, no matter what” Gun Roswell

Some kind of Grass

Fenced in and out

The grass growing wild
In the nature open wide
Neighbour decided
It was time for the divided
Putting up a fence
To keep out the green grass
But, alas!
Big was his surprise
When he saw with his own eyes
The nature cannot be contained
No matter what kind of chains
You try to wrap around
The very ground
Everything grows
Because it knows
That person is a fool
And needs to be schooled
In the ways
Of all things nature

Some kind of Grass (2)

“The grass is always growing, no matter what” Gun Roswell

Some kind of Grass

Blue on white

Fluffy and cuddly
It appeared suddenly
Onto the roof top
In just on single hop

A grassy thing
But yes it could sing
Despite its appearance
In a colour of silence

Blue was it painted
By nature tainted
But it never faded
Into the background placid

Some kind of Grass (1)

“The grass is always growing, no matter what” Gun Roswell

Some kind of Grass

On the top of a tree

The stump of wood may be old
But a great nature’s pot of gold
It is for any kind of growth
To take its time and hold

Hollow, from a far it may look
But there is always a hook
And for grass it never took
Too much time to climb up the very nook

So what you may here see;

On the top of a very tall tree
As far and wide as the eye can see
The green grass is growing free

Flowery three

“The gifts of summer, flowers all over hover” Gun Roswell

Flowery

Bells

Bells of garden keep on ringing
The prophesy of summer fulfilling
The lilac coloured creatures
Will be the best of the features
Of the small patch of colour complete
In the midst of a city concrete
Onlookers passing by
Soon they too will smile
Singing along to the sound
Of the bells ringing near the ground
What a pretty place to see
In a other wise grey sea

Flowery two

“The gifts of summer, flowers all over hover” Gun Roswell

Flowery

Purple

Spread wide open to the sun’s rays
The purple belle sure has it ways
To lure in all the power it needs
And when night falls, it feeds

Pretties of all the flowers in the garden
It’s petals soft but inside quite hardened
You may look at it but do not touch
The belle does not care for others much

Each years she comes out at summer
Several weeks it lasts in full flower
But then the belle also must hide
For another winters smite to survive

Flowery one

“The gifts of summer, flowers all over hover” Gun Roswell

Flowery

Pink

A pink peony in the rose garden
Tried to impose, sneak in, hide it’s true nature
But the others were much smarter
Imposing the impostor, right from the get go

They shunned, pricked, ridiculed, turn their backs
For trying everything and anything there really was no lack
The roses were adamant to chase the peony away
Never in a million years, would it be able to stay!

But a million years and more passed
And still the pink peony has lasted
Growing tall and strong and pink
In the garden, full of roses, in sync!

Boat Ahoy! two

“Row row row a boat, gently down the moat” Gun Roswell

Boat Ahoy!

A boat from the times simple
May some good old memories kindle
On a day filled with sunlight
When nothing and none is uptight

Take a ride on the lake
With this ye old boat, no fake
Row a while, then maybe smile
On this day of summers so fine

It may be old a rickety
But try to use it skillfully
And to the wide side of the water’s deep
Then back again, it will have brought thee
