May the 4th be with you!

May the 4th be with you!

In a galaxy far far away
To the dark side you may stray
Because you just wanted a holiday
A little weekend escape
With the stormtroopers parade
Just stay in the shade

But after hanging out with Vader
He would surely be the traitor
Hogging all the toilet paper
And sending you to meet your maker
You realized sooner or later
…It was time to flee this theatre

Back on track with team Yoda,
Or these days, even Baby Yoda
I may be missing the scotch and soda

Laying lazily on a soft sofa
But soon it will be time for yoga
And later on TV some Oprah
Who said I could not fill my quota!

Happy Star Wars day to one and all!
And may the Force be with you, always!

Homage to Spock AKA Leonard Nimoy – Remembering Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015)

“Live long and prosper” – Spock AKA Leonard Nimoy

Homage to Spock AKA Leonard Nimoy

“It’s only a television show”
– Maybe so, but it got me through the best of times and surely through the worst of times

“Vulcan honours us with your presence. We come to serve”
– Mr Spock had me at hello

“Never meet your heroes”
– Maybe true, but this particular hero I will regret not meeting for the rest of my life

“These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise, Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.”
– And I will keep watching until such time they put me out to pasture.

Dame Angela Lansbury in Memoriam

“Here I am, I still go on, you know, like the tides” Angela Lansbury

Dame Angela Lansbury in Memoriam

Those big baby blues

Changing their hues

The smile always wide

Never ever, getting tired

Playing whatever part

Given, taken, always smart

Singing, dancing

Sometimes, even romancing

The talent is here forever

Into our hearts tethered

The name never forgotten

Dame Angela Lansbury

We are all still so smitten

The Dame is dead,

But, we still hail,

Long live, our Dame!

The first season for the latest Star Trek TV show to stream on Paramount+, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, has just concluded with a strong episode (“A Quality of Mercy”) that represented the best stories of the season. The show is a spinoff of Star Trek: Discovery and another prequel to the original Star Trek. In this case, the show chronicles the voyages of the starship Enterprise under the command of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) a few short years before Captain James T. Kirk assumed command.

Getting this out of the way, this series is fantastic with its much needed and refreshing back-to-basics approach for Star Trek. The franchise has been faltering lately with subpar live-action entries, Star Trek: Discovery and the second season of Star Trek: Picard. However, the franchise feels reinvigorated now with the new series. A huge part of the success of
