Mundane Monday

“I now find magic in the mundane. I’m also more creative – better able to look beyond the obvious and come up with new story angles.” Deborah Norville

Red Light on Monday

Don’t run
Against the red light
You might
Get a sight
If the coppers
Are watching
In their choppers!

Sunshine on Monday

Look, who decided to show up
And here I was starting
To get all wound up!

Quickly, up from the tub
Grab my favourite cup
And outside,
With a huff and puff
I go
And none too slow!

Before, that is,
My favourite show
On TV is up!

Rain on Monday

The snail’s predictions
Done, with convictions
Brought us destruction
With a set of storm and rain
Falling heavily,
Onto, the open plane

Dark Clouds on Monday

Ominous and eerie
Even though, in theory
It was still summer

Feelings of weary
Vision getting blurry
Starting to worry
As the weather
Was getting glummer

“The cars we drive say a lot about us” Alexandra Paul

Drive for The Daily Post

They said I couldn’t
You said I shouldn’t
I thought I wouldn’t

But, now
Fading spots I see
In the rear view mirror
As my car and me
Down the road terror
Plough

Finally
Here I am
Where ever this is
Easily
I did drive
So do give me
A high five

“I don’t want to be a passenger sitting on the bench not doing much, even in my older years” Frank Lampard

Seat Sunday

I have followed the yellow brick road
And it led me to this humble abode
Surrounded by a picket fence
And a green grass oh so dense

Now I am stationed here for all eternity
The yellow bricks stacked behind me
Grass growing tall, reaching to infinity
The inhabitants enjoying me occasionally

Maybe this is the place I will settle
And every day brew me tea in a kettle
I may be made out of wood and metal
But I can be quite sentimental

I am a special bench
Possibly made by the French
Sometimes in the drain I drench
Still, I am quite the mensch 😉

“Snail, snail,
Show me your horns,
Will there tomorrow,
Be a storm”
– Finnish adage

Snail for The Daily Post

Little slimey snail
Brought by a gail
Now stuck in this tale
Onto my windowsill

I though you were a hale
Of the size of a whale
But you seem quite frail
Dragging your tall tail

I tried to snap a picture
But you were way too fast
Now into this scripture
Your tall tale will last

On a Break

I am on a break
Awaiting my steak
Don’t want a snake
And expecting cake
So don’t keep me awake
Just let me dream
For heaven’s sake!

Photoshoot

“I am ready for my close-up!”

Said the pup
As he finished his cup
And, got ready for the lineup
