Day Five: “Moment” — Capture Motion

* Our lives are made up of big events and tiny moments. Life is fleeting, and oftentimes it’s the small moments, this motion, that we love to document.

“In my photographs it is apparent that there was no posing at the moment I released the shutter” Jerzy Kosinski

Happy

Sad face
Feeling crappy

“Don’t worry, be happy”
She said

And jumped off the sofa
Sprinkled fairy dust
The scent of ambrosia

“In this you must trust!”

And in a wink of an eye
Without a goodbye
She was gone

Lingering happiness
Replacing the crappiness
And finally
A smile on my face

Day Six: “Solitude” — The Rule of Thirds

Today, let’s capture solitude: the state of being alone, or a lonely and uninhabited place. What does this word look like to you?

“Solitude standing” Suzanne Vega

One Winter’s Day

Break time
Nothing but time
On my hands
No other plans

Cool sea breeze
My hands freeze
Trying not to sneeze
Uttering, “please”

Let this break
Be over soon!

Day Five_ “Connect”

* In this age of social media, we hear the word connect often, don’t we? Connect with us on Facebook! Connect with me on LinkedIn! Given what today’s technologies can do, it feels like the world is getting smaller, and we’re more connected than ever.

“Call me on the line, call me any day or night” Blondie

Call Me

“Use the phone:
Just dial the numbers!

No Twitter
No Facebook
No Instagram
No damned text messages!

That’s it:
Use your fingers
Push the buttons
Numbers
One by one
Put the receiver
Against your ear
Can you hear
The ring tone?

That’s it!

Use
Your
Own
Voice

And just,
Call me!”

“We’re on a road to nowhere” Talking Heads

On a Road to Nowhere

On the road to nowhere
In a hurry, to get there
I would rather be elsewhere
But instead
I want to go everywhere
I want to get
Connected

Apples

“How about them apples, then?”
Asked Sven

Sinking his teeth into one
He knew he had just won

“I’ll give this a full ten!”

Mayweeds

The flowerbeds’ seed
Looks like weed
But, pretty indeed
Let’s call them
Mayweeds
Even, if it’s summer!

Mushrooms

Look what the rain brought:
Mushrooms, and not store bought
Popping up from the ground
Making a squishing sound
And waiting to be found

Surely a question,

Day Four: “Natural World” — Leading Lines

* A good photographer is a constant observer. Out in nature, we have opportunities to watch and study a scene, from big, sweeping changes — like the sky at dusk — to the tiniest details.

Natural Lines (WP: Developing Your Eye II)

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better” Albert Einstein

Purple Lines

Purple and wavy
Nothing too racy
Surely not a daisy
Just another pretty flower
