Writing on the Wall for Mundane Monday

“I think you can find all the elements that you can find in great literature in mundane experiences” Harvey Pekar

Writing on the Wall

Mysterious graffiti on the wall..
The artistic views of street dwellers under influence of alcohol
Or possibly an alien message; someone who just wanted to make a home call

Two Geese A-walking for Mundane Monday

Two Geese A-walking

On the second day of May
What comes my way
But, two geese a-walking…

Pretty with Yellow for Mundane Monday

“Almost every Monday I have a charity thing. I like that. I do” Yogi Berra

Pretty with Yellow

Yellow!
Said the fellow
As he helloed
With a bellow
Of a voice
A little rejoice
In his voice
After all
He had broken protocol
And was finally
Smelling the flowers

Raindrops for Mundane Monday

Posted in Mundane Monday

“Raindrops keep falling on my head…”

Raindrops

Rain pouring down the window frame
Feeling tired and totally lame
Staring into the stream of transparent liquid
My mind drifting and slumber comes quickly
In my dreams I start to wander
Into a place full of wonder
Where the sun is always shining
and nothing and no one is never minding
The tall tales of winter
Now left far behind me

Colours in Mundane Monday

“Life tends to be an accumulation of a lot of mundane decisions, which often gets ignored” David Byrne

Colours

A work of art?
Or something smart?
A splash of colour
Will leave you wonder
What is beyond there?
A work of art
Or something,
Even more smart?

Simply Red in Mundane Monday

Posted in Mundane Monday

“I have always been caught by the pull of the unremarkable, by the easily missed, infinitely nourishing beauty of the mundane.”
― Tana French, Broken Harbor

Simply Red

Simple it the word
Easily slurred
But for a mundane day
The colour is grey
With a touch of red
Unravelling the thread

Driving Off in Mundane Monday

Who can say what astonishments are hidden inside the most mundane being?”
Author: Kate DiCamillo

moped-1

Driving Off

On this futuristic moped
Travelling nowhere fast
Licence already revoked
But we are having a blast

moped-2

Mock us
Call us
Old folk
Elephants
What ever
You want

We still rule
Just need
A little fuel

And

We are
Going, going, going,
Gone

Bye!

Jaguar in Mundane Monday

“I want a Jaguar, Jaguar, a Jaguar car” Gun Roswell

Jaguar

Shiny bright objects
On the hood of the car
Not satisfied admiring from afar
Closing in with careful steps

Ornaments of gorgeous animals
Mouths agape like howling cannibals
A feline of sorts
Put on this car of sports

A Jaguar,
Can go quite far
But how about,
This old car?

Got my prize
In a pocket size
A snap for this post
Now the image a ghost

Driving in my Fiesta
I really need a siesta
But in my mind
A tune of a different kind

“I want a Jaguar, Jaguar, a Jaguar car”

Look Up! in Mundane Monday

Look Up!

When in the forest of deep
You may find what you seek
Remember to look up
But try not to stumble over a stub

Hard Times in Mundane Monday

“We’re horribly mundane, aggressively mundane individuals. We’re the ninjas of the mundane, you might say” Andy Partridge

Hard Times

“Hard Times”
The wall stated

“Living on dimes!”
Sighing frustrated

Sign of the times?

Only cheap wines
Walking the thin line
Avoiding the mines
Remembering,
The good old times

And as long as this rhymes
I will be feeling just fine
