“Never, ever underestimate the importance of having fun”
Randy Pausch
One – Two – Fun
White headed
Green bodied
One minded
Fun winded
Sitting on the sidewalk
Always on the stalk
For a little distraction
Some kind of action
Of the fun variety
With a sense of propriety
We almost didn´t go to Croatia, as we´d heard that wild camping is illegal and that the authorities are super strict and take some sort of peverse pleasure in rooting out campers and making life miserable. But then we decided just to go and see how it was, and if it sucked, we´d just keep […]

“Our house, in the middle of the street”
Madness
Welcome
Welcome, to our house
For a stay or just a browse
Be all welcome, even a mouse
Just remember, to wear a shirt
Or at least, a pretty blouse

Brick in the Wall
Just another brick in the wall
On this oldest of town halls
Up, up, the rugged stones yourself haul
Reaching the top, you might feel quite small
But when you stand up, and do not fall
You feel yourself, getting quite tall
No time to stall
And to be, another brick on that wall

Memento
A woven tapestry
A memory canvas
A colourful fantasy
A memory, of Atlantis

Harness
It’s not easy to harness
Light, from the darkness
But even in the deepest shadow
A blooming life will grow

Road Travelled
The road travelled
Was filled with gravel
As life slowly unraveled
Exposed, to unwanted battles
Sometimes, treated like cattle
Our cages slowly rattled
Until reaching, the promised castle
On this long road, travelled

Ice and Coffee
Chilled, in a tall glass
The liquid, not made to last
Pour it down, really fast
This dark icy mass
Was not made out of grass
But of a sacred stash
Beans filled with caffeine
Only the most pristine
Made, to this drink supreme
Last year in my garden, I planted butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa), a type of milkweed, namely to help create a habitat for Monarch butterflies and other pollinators. Last week, when I found a Monarch butterfly caterpillar eating leaves on my butterfly weed, I was ecstatic. I hope this is an indicator that more Monarch butterflies […]

Daily
Reflected, daily life
Today is, peaceful, without a strife
No need for a fork or knife
Took the day off
Decided, with a coin toss
It’s no one’s loss
Sitting, in the shadow
No worry, of tomorrow
Just enjoying, what this day throws
