“Step right up! But, perhaps take caution, before diving right in, as it’s late in the year and the waters just might be frozen!” Gun Roswell
When standing on the edge I made this solemn pledge To dive in Even if, There would be ice thin Luckily, This September weather Is a reminiscent of a soft feather More so, Than a rainy autumn Boy, Must the Forecast Gods feel dumb!
“Surprise! There is sunshine in September too, way up North, alas, sometimes, it takes a while for it to rise” Gun Roswell
In a hurry, just, like always, so also, this morning Trying to beat the traffic and get to the seaside before the dawning To watch, experience and really enjoy, a spectacle, specially arranged by mother nature But I am so worried, I will be belated Alas, as I suspected, the time is not, on my side As I am trying, towards the goal, as fast as possible, to drive But, since the other drivers, seem to have, the exact same agenda I worry, that all this hurry, is only going to leave me in one big surrender And soon enough, my fears are materialized, as all the cars, come, to a full stop As if by some great plan, they all halt, right there on the dot Is it a red light or some other type of strife, I wonder just then Swearing, cussing, under my breath, hoping, wishing, not too much time to spend In this state of suspension, my face, in a constant animation Feelings rising, emotions getting spicy And then, just as all hope had been cast out the window The line of vehicles gradually start to move From the rear view window, I can see the water flow Closer, and closer I slowly like a snail approach The sun, rising, the reddish glow, reminiscent of a torch As I am finally reaching the spot, I quickly find the parking lot Rushing out of the car, I am running, even if it’s not so far The pier, where all the viewers are now In awe, admiring the reflected glow Of the sun rising in this Autumn morning Could not have asked for a better view for this dawning
“Ships passing in the distance, the weather grey and dull, as is the sea, no complaints though, sitting here observing life passing by, and waiting for the sun to shine” Gun Roswell
I still remember That one September The bluest of skies And it was warmer than July The water clear and inviting The air soft and delighting Not a worry in sight Everything quite right In the distance For an instance A boat or two Disappearing from the view Most tourists already gone Leaving us alone Enjoying in peace With a short lease The last rays of summer
“I am ready for my close-up dear photographer!” Gun Roswell
Little yellow dandelions With all the fellow yellow flowers Powerful, like lions Growing strong, despite September Possibly still yellow, come November? Or then covered with a pile of snow!
“The colour so vivid, so vibrant, like it’s on fire, gorgeous reds all around!” Gun Roswell
Roses are red And violets are blue That may be true But also The leaves Of the Autumn As they heave Bright red In the sunlight Before turning Well falling Onto The ground How does that sound?
“The sun is shining, on the other side, over there, across the sea, somewhere else but definitely not here“ Gun Roswell
There is sunshine, on the other side, the proof delivered by a witness, who dared to peek through the curtain, and then, after seeing the miracle, snapped the picture, as proof!
As of now, the summer is officially over, as September has just reared is ugly head and instead of getting a cooling down situation outside, the plummet in daily temperatures, not to mention all the down pour, has definitely not left any of us scored.
So, even after complaining about the whole too warm summer time, having lasted for such a short while, the winter season is upon, the sunshine, the warmth the greens, all but gone.
Luckily though, in the dreams and pictures, some of it can be relived, when huddling down frozen cold because of as was foretold, it is the season of rain and behold, soon enough – snow!
“Vivid be they, the colours of nature in September” Gun Roswell
Hopeful of a little sunshine Trying to unwind Small steps here and there Enjoying the cool air Still a little shaky But no more breaky The shutter clicking Nature truly ass-kicking Every minute an adventure Bring it on September!
“Not a coffee shop in sight! Oh the plight! No morning nor noon caffein so how am I supposed to keep on living?” Gun Roswell
Heading into the streets Stumbling on my wobbly feet But not to worry I was in no hurry? Luckily someone Had left the seat out And yes, it is that of a coffee shop!
“Sometimes a sugary treat, will turn to be quite evil, even with the fruit and veggie filled meal having been consumed just before.” Gun Roswell
They say it is good for you Healthy type of food You must eat it Possibly, even enjoy it But who can really resist The tempting siren song Of the sugary spawn Of a glazed donught They said not to touch But I really wanted it so much Sneaking it out In a hankerchief no less I must confess I ate the whole thing With one big bite Just out of spite I really, really enjoyed it
“There is always a seat when you need one” Gun Roswell
The warm sun shining in the blue skies and I find myself whining to the simple fact of too much heat and direct sunlight in my pale face. Trying very hard but there is simply no escape. But wait! What did I just spot in my peripheral vision but something most likely to be saving my over cooked bacon? A seat over there in the distant, and to be scarce, it’s residing in the only shadowy spot to be seen or found for miles on end. Could I really be that lucky and be the one, whom over there ion a few could run? Or is this simply a terrible joke, a mirage at the expense of my over heated delusional mind? Please please be kind and let me over there my way find and nothing more will I ever ask again. Well, not until the next time when I’m in trouble again, so talk then as now I need to get to my precious seat on the cool shadows and plenty of rest there spend until it’s time to say, when and get going again.
