Porvoo for World Wide Wednesday 1

Posted in World Wide Wednesday

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page” Saint Augustine

Porvoo

The old town of Porvoo
A home away from home
Flew there like a crow
Stated ,when in Rome…
Found the nearest cafe
Which was close to the bay
Enjoyed the sunny day
Until turn of eve
When it was time to leave

Mundane Monday

Posted in Mundane Monday

“Monday is great if I can spend it in bed. I’m a man of simple pleasures, really” Arthur Darvill

Mundane Monday

Just another Manic Monday
Certainly not my fun day
Back in the office again
Simply cannot explain
It just happens
Always after weekend
Leaving me baffled
I cannot help myself
And leaves me overwhelmed
I just end up here
In this stratosphere
Called work

Seat Sunday: A Bench to Sit on

“I don’t generally like running.
I believe in training by rising gently up
and down from the bench”
Satchel Paige

A Bench to Sit on

Moving forward
I found one, made of wood
Maybe it wasn’t hard
Rather suitably good
Too soft for a fit!

Early Morning on a Saturday

Posted in the Daily Post

“Morning comes whether you set the alarm or not.” Ursula K. Le Guin

morning

Early Morning on a Saturday

Too early
Airport calling
Surely
You wouldn’t want to
Miss the flight
It took so long
And one
Sleepless night
To get there
Where ever
You now wanted
To go

Breathe in
Breathe out
Let the morning air
Cool and thin
Hitting your skin
Clear all doubt
For soon
Sea and sun
Will replace
The mundane
And it’s not even
A Monday!
Get the pun?

Monolith for Fav Foto Friday

“Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution” Ansel Adams

Monolith

Tall, dark and mysterious
Standing by itself, all serious
Staring at it, getting nervous
Or maybe just a little delirious

esplanade-2

Esplanade

Down the esplanade
We like to parade
With a gentle sway
For a while in the cafes stay
Until summer will fade
And to indoors we will trade

Aleksanterinkatu

The fearless leader from Russia
Made such a fuss-ia
Wanted a statue
And a street no less
As a name sake
Oh, we are no fools
And know he was a fake
He had his dues
But I must confess
The names sound kinda cool!

Mundane Monday: Temple of Blue

Temple of Blue

Don’t just stand there and stare
Enter, if you dare
We will not give you a scare
(Much anyway 😉 )

Then I saw it
The bench, made of stone
When I tried to sit
I felt it to my bones
Too hard for a fit!

Sunset on Saturday

sunset-1

A February Saturday
Opened up a gallery
Of a painted nature display
The setting sun
A web of colours spun
Across the horizon
