Footsteps in the… snow? Oh no! Where did spring go?

“No winter lasts forever… and then, we found out differently didn’t we! As the snowy weather hit the fans like the proverbial sh.t with so much pouring down! With all the winter gear packed away because was waiting for summer to arrive, alas, this is what happened! So much more snow! Thankfully though, still had my woollen socks to spare!” Gun Roswell

Footsteps in the… snow? Oh no! Where did spring go?

There are no missteps they said
Just follow in them ready made footsteps
And what did I find?
A reward of a different kind?
…A pair of woollen socks!
Waiting by the docks!
Thank goodness though
As winter came back out of nowhere!

En route by train but it snows and so, stuck waiting for way too long!!!

“Waiting for spring, dressed accordingly and then, the blizzard hits, snowing all the way, no jingles, no fanfares, just damp to the core while trying to work thread across the now snowy path. Oh weather, thou art a heartless bi..h!” Gun Roswell

En route by train but it snows and so, stuck waiting for way too long!!!

Public transit, oh what joy!
But, before you shout ahoy
Read this story of some kind of ploy?

Early morning in April
I was really in a hurry
The venue was set in the city
And feeling a little giddy
After all travelling by train
Was not something to do in vain
Especially in the middle of spring comes a surprise winter!
With temperatures below zero
And myself certainly no sprinter
And even less of a hero

Reaching the train station
After half jogging the way
Then I heard the notification
The train had been delayed
No indication as to arrival time
But they told us, all was fine
Just a minor snafu
The train would be there in a few

A few minutes went by
On the platform standing by
Then after a while
Waiting for the train to arrive
I was wishing I had taken the car
I would have been so very far

Oh what fun and joy!
Toes, fingers and nose freezing
The snow storm’s intensity increasing
Now I know, this was a winter’s ploy!
To get spring cancelled all along!

On the Metro, or if you prefer, the Tube or the Subway

“Take a short ride on a short train, then again, this wasn’t as short a ride or a train as promised!” Gun Roswell

Eastward or westward bound
In an orange coloured train to be found
Riding neatly in a fashionable order
From the beginning to the farthest border

Hop on to one of the trains
They’re usually never too late
But it might feel a little bit of strain
To most of the time underground remain

Never mind the dark and dreary
Look out the window and you’ll be leering
The orange flashes reflecting from each surface
Paints many images on the fleeting canvas

Many a people climb on board
Everyone busily moving forward
Sometimes there is a crowd
And then it gets really really loud

When you reach your destination
Please embark the underground station
Look around the surrounding sights
Like a great tourist, you may like

When it’s time for the return trip
There is no need to bite your lip
If you feel like taking another tour
Remember, the metros run thirty times or more!

Trains, Planes, Automobiles and a Bicycle, maybe Walking? Part Five

“Sometimes there is no what kind of vehicle you will end up in, and so, make sure to dress up accordingly!” Gun Roswell

Take the time, and you will be feeling most fine
No matter the durance of the trip, going with a car, plane, train or ship
There is just something about the leaving, moving along
As not even the planning for this little time off
Could prepare the traveller of what’s lying ahead, nor the tingling sensations during take off!

Trains, Planes, Automobiles and a Bicycle, maybe Walking? Part Four

“When travelling across the blue globe they call Earth, there might be some danger, but mostly mirth, so just go with the flow, but humbly though.” Gun Roswell

Picking up some wings
Most certainly has its wins
Getting to a place fast, or then not, still does those pesky bells ring
But if you want to go all the way, with a scheduler and with some style
Sailing perhaps up the river Nile
Then choosing a boat is a must, the trip without too much fuss
Or then, just hop on a train
When there is no need to explain
Where you are headed at
As sometimes the lack of knowing can be great!

The Witches of Easter

“All kinds of witches are about, usually all year long, but especially during Easter times!” Gun Roswell

The three witches from some-wick
Never mind with
They ain’t winning no beauty contests
To that many can attest

But ugly can be an asset
Especially for the wickedness
Scaring folks and cattle
Just by showing up tattle

After all, this is a holy ball
For all the witch kind
And if you any of them find
Then try to stir to the right
As the witches always drive
On the left hand side

Ye Old Witch of Easter Times

“All kinds of witches are about, usually all year long, but especially during Easter times!” Gun Roswell

She is so old, her teeth are gold
She is almost blind and bold
But never the lesser one
Usually, having all the fun

When she smiles
There is no vile
The children she likes
Never ever strikes

Only candy will she eat
When she is riding on that broomy seat
Her charm is the grey cat
Which has become quite fat

Cheers and best wishes to all
Before the cauldron her again calls
And until next Easter
She will be off her keister

Trains, Planes, Automobiles and a Bicycle, maybe Walking? Part Three

“Two or three wheels, will give the feel of something old, perhaps even bold, keep pedalling and far you will end up, well, perhaps or not!” Gun Roswell

On the open road
With a heavy load
A location in mind
Trying to unwind
The wind in the hair
No time for cares
Doing this all on a dare
Other wise could have just stayed
At home all alone?

Trains, Planes, Automobiles and a Bicycle, maybe Walking? Part Two

“Take a ride to the great open wide, do it with a smile, and remember, there alway might be some dire awaiting, but leave the hating and smile through it all, life, is a ball after all!” Gun Roswell

On the open road
With a heavy load
A location in mind
Trying to unwind
Travelling on wheels
Has its appeals
But getting somewhere far
In only a car
Can be a chore
Changing the score
Picking up some wings
Has its wins
But if you want some style
And sail up the Nile
A boat or a yacht
Is worth getting stuck
If you want to do it old style
And travel with a big smile
The coolest way
With the hips in sway
Doing some recycling
Then, pedal a bicycle

Trains, Planes, Automobiles and a Bicycle, maybe Walking? Part One

“The need to travel to far away places is there, just need to choose the right method to make the dream come true!” Gun Roswell

Choose a tram or a big yacht
As it’s not really worth getting stuck
In just the one place and for too long to stay
And so, one foot in front of the other lay
The travel mode within taking over
Do it with so much style or just in a backpack ride
Then simply hop on that tram or a perhaps a slow boat
And travel with a big wide smile
