“Not all those who wander are lost” J. R. R. Tolkien

Quote a Week Tuesday: 2016-04-05

For this week’s quotes, I have chosen something, that all of us, who tend to use the excuse of doing things “mañana” i.e. “tomorrow”, can take to heart:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain

“There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer” Ansel Adams

Quote a Week Tuesday 2016-03-29

The choice for this week’s quote has to be one of my most favourite subjects?
What on earth could that be you ask?
Well, if you don’t know, you obviously missed my site completely!

Food?
Well, I do eat, sometimes 😉
Music?
No, not really, but I am a fan.
Art?
Well, sort of, I guess.
Photography?
Yes! Finally!

From one of my top favourite pix snappers aka photographers:

“A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words” Ansel Adams

“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer” Sun Tzu

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2016-03-08

For this week’s quote, I have chosen the adage of friends versus enemies. Most of us may have found out who your true friends are, when push comes to shove.

Therefore, the original version of keeping one’s enemies closer easily translates to this humorous version of

“With friends like that who needs enemas?”

“Work, really? Again? Didn’t I just do that yesterday?

Quote a Week Tuesday: 2016-03-01

Work, what can I say? Can’t live with it, can’t live with it 😉

Getting into a right frame of mind at work, especially when the cups are overflowing every which way and the better part of the day spent either firefighting or tilting against windmills. The one thing you need to remember, well several things actually, but if you are working in a “desk job” as a payed employee, it’s just work and five o’clock will arrive at some point of the day!

Therefore, while getting into that good place in my mind before ending up in a straight jacket, I decided to look into the humorous side of the working life 😛 After all, if a laugh a day keeps the good doctor away, maybe a few more will save the rest of the week!
Here are a few gems I found in order of appearance:

“I like work; it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours” Jerome K. Jerome

“Personally, I have nothing against work, particularly when performed, quietly and unobtrusively, by someone else” Barbara Ehrenreich

Homage to Leonard Nimoy AKA Mr Spock

“Live Long and Prosper” Mr Spock, Star Trek

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2016-02-23

For today’s quote of the week, I have chosen something a bit more serious… What? Moi? Serious? Yes, yes, I know it is odd, but I do have a serious side too 😉

But seriously, life is short, live it to the fullest! Enjoy the moments and the littlest things!
Here is a quote by one of my most favourite people in the world (and heaven), Leonard Nimoy:

“A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP” Leonard Nimoy

“There is no I in team”

Oh, but wait! I think there is proof to the contrary, as found out by the vigilant people searching for the ultimate truth ;P

“The I in team is hidden in the ‘A’ hole!”

“This is my favourite kind of art” Gun Roswell

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2016-01-26

For this week’s quote, I have chosen one from the late and great Andy Warhol. This is something all of us, trying to “create art”, can easily relate to:

“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it is good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” Andy Warhol

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed” Ernest Hemingway

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2016-01-19

For this week’s quote, I chose a little something to encourage all us writers; two simple guidelines to follow. Well, basically it is one and the same but for your reading pleasure, please find both the original and updated version.

“This is how you do it: You sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until it is done. It’s that easy, it’s that hard.” Neil Gaiman

“Writers aren’t exactly people… They’re a whole bunch of people trying to be one person” F Scott Fitzgerald

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2016-01-12

We all have a little writer in us wanting to break free.

For this week’s quote, I have chosen a quote fitting for all us calling ourselves writers. Despite the fact we enjoy what we do and would not change it for the world. Still, sometimes we hit a block for one reason or another and then, we secretly wish to have some magic means to complete our stories.

“All writers have this vague hope that the elves will come in the night and finish any stories” Neil Gaiman
