Lazy Chair

“This is my spot!” Gun Roswell

Lazy Chair

To myself be fair
I am sitting in this lazy chair
Just because I feel i have earned it
After a day on work spent
It would be nice to lay around all day
But there is a house and food to pay
For now, enjoying the tiny lazy moments where I can
Dreaming under the cooling fan
That
Maybe some day
I can do what i may

“How rude with their backs turned to us” Gun Roswell

Facing the wall

A sunny spot for respite
Face against the wall, we must sit
Who are we hiding from?

“A designer seat in the lobby” Gun Roswell

Designing seats

A flash from the past
Hotel lobby seats, sitting pretty, by design
No room for you derrière

“Always the feeling of blue, present” Gun Roswell

Blue on blue

Blue, the colour of air
Blue, painted on to the lonely chair
Blue, waves hitting the shores

Green with envy (Seat Sunday)

“Green is the colour of nature” Gun Roswell

Green with envy

Opposite sits the other, green
Envy, hate, anger, never saying one word
Flowers in pots, soothing atmosphere

“A long afternoon on a hard seat” Gun Roswell

Sunday Afternoon

Waiting, never ending, on Sunday
Midday sun, a bus stop, empty seats
Several hours later, no ride

A Sofa in Vienna

Inside, the warm inviting sofa
In one of the towns in Europa
It may have been fancy once upon a time
But even in its condition it suits me just fine

Sitting on a seat, in Cyprus

Sitting on a seat, in Cyprus

A single seat?
Or one designed for two?
In this heat
Who could want to be glued
To someone else’s skin
With clothes this thin

Just a A Bench to Sit on

“I don’t generally like running. I believe in training by rising gently up and down from the bench” Satchel Paige

Just a Bench to Sit on

I was looking for
A bench to sit on
What I hoped to score
Something close to a lawn
To lay my tired self
On a softer shelf

Then I saw it
The bench, made of stone
When I tried to sit
I felt it to my bones
Too hard for a fit!

Moving forward
I found one, made of wood
Maybe it wasn’t hard
Rather suitably good
Too soft for a fit!

So once again
I had to complain
But I knew, the right seat
Was just in reach
I just had to seek

A little while longer
As I moved along
The feeling now stronger
I knew it wouldn’t be long
I was close to finding
As I saw the metal shining

I finally found it
A bench made of metal
For me to sit
Soft as a petal
A purr-fect fit
