Snow, Part One

A fresh coat of snow
With a wintry glow
Life getting more slow
Just follow the flow
Even if you really
Don’t like snow

A stroll around down town
A Lidl and a few shoeshops found
Time for a scenic break

Down to the busy harbour
Checking both port and starboard
Both filled with tourists a flocking
Guess it wasn’t shocking
After all, a pleasent place
A seashore the perfect interface

This week’s World Wide Wednesday presents you the Island in the Atlantic Ocean, Lanzarote:

Arid Lanzarote, one of the Canary islands off the coast of West Africa, is known for its year-round warm weather, beaches and volcanic landscape. East-coast resort Puerto del Carmen has whitewashed villas, a harbor and dive centers. Caletón Blanco is a string of northern coves with calm, clear water for snorkeling, and Famara beach has cliffs for hang gliding and surf schools.

Our little journey on the island was set in the small village of Puerto Del Carmen. Some fifteen minutes’ drive from the Arrecife Airport, also known as the Lanzarote Airport. The narrow, but good roads along the coast, were easy to navigate. Never mind google maps on your mobile phone, just follow the street signs and you are there! The island itself was not a big one, everything a short distance away. A week’s worth of relaxation and sightseeing dead ahead!

Circles of Life (The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge), Sun

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Circle

“With 2016 officially here, we face forward to take on what’s next. It’s a time of endings and beginnings, so I wanted a broad theme that could be simple, fun, and festive, but also complex and introspective. And so, circle it is.”

Sun

During the early morning hours
Or for the late evening flowers
The big ball of light
Showing its might
Can’t live without it
It lifts up your spirits
To your power we freely submit
Oh sun, sun, sun
No, this is not a pun

Moon

Crescent moon
Full moon
A big white balloon
Wrapped up in a dark cocoon
Silence, the signature tune
Except,
When you are howling
At the moon

“Behind every successful woman is a fabulous pair of shoes”

Quote a Week Tuesday, 2016-01-06

For today’s quote, I chose from a topic very near and dear to me. What is it?
Yes, you guessed it; Shoes! But seriously, this is one topic I do not take very lightly 😉

A woman can never have too many pairs of shoes!

The inspiration for this post actually came to me from the Albert and Victoria Museum exhibit of “12 Days of Shoes“, currently running in the museum. If you are in London,
you may want to check it out.

Meanwhile;

“You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy shoes, and that is kind of the same thing!”

Happy Shoe Days, All!
