Camouflage

“I need camouflage
that works in such a way
that when I wear it,
you disappear.”
Jarod Kintz

Camouflage

I need a good disguise
I really need to hide
From the prying eyes
So very hard I tried
To fit in the system
Trying each position
But now the resistance
Almost my mission
Is to get away
To disappear
I know it’s a cliche
I am facing
The final frontier
My heart racing
I am finally fading
My shell visible
Slowly trading
Becoming invisible
My camouflage
Now complete

“No place is ever as bad
as they tell you it’s going to be.”

Greece

Sunsets and horseback rides
In the sandy open wide
Beach life at its best
Or something else you can suggest?

Greece

Knick-knacks
And doodads
They may not last
To tell any tales
From here
To the past

as they tell you it’s going to be.”

Greece

In the clear turquoise waters
Maybe, spotting a few otters
But fare warning
Be careful, of what you may spot
The white fading spot
Could be a seagull doing a drop
Or a tourist diving
Without a bottom or a top!

The midday sun
High up in the blue sky
Enjoying the holiday fun
Watching the birds fly

Local architecture,
Filled with history
Just lay back
And soak in the stories
Of all the glories
From the past
Plastered to last
Oh, what a blast!

Could it be?

“A short story is something that you can hold in your mind.
You can really analyze how the entire thing works, like a machine”
Chuck Palahniuk

Could it be?

Could it be?
Can you see?
Is it true?
Who knew!

So what if it is
This wasn’t a quiz
It’s no one’s biz
If we go to the Ritz

Never mind
I’ll be fine
I got a dime
Let it chime

Out on the street
Dancing to the beat
Life oh so sweet
Oh what a treat

The lesson learnt
Don’t get burnt
Even if you weren’t
Dance ’till you aren’t

Atop of the World, Mom!

Viewing,
The ancient ruins
From the top, of the mountain
The views,
Sometimes haunting
But never daunting

Atop of the World, Mom!

On the top of the roof
Acting quite aloof
Searching for some proof
Of existence beyond the marble
As the people’s stare will never stop
At the tall white statues marvel
On the building, atop
