July picnic?

“Load a basket full of goodies, make sure to include a hoodie, as July weather can be quite unpredictable, then get out and choose the perfect spot, have one of them, picnics they all talk so much about!” Gun Roswell

Going on a picnic
Come snow, hail or shine
After all, it is still July
Hoping not to get sick
Sitting on the beach
Shivering with cold
The warmth at arms reach
It’s summer I was told
Not time for mission abort
Should not have worn shorts
The rain soon falls
Drops like thick walls
Clothes getting wetter
Running to shelter
Looking for a hide
Getting inside
Cold and wet
And unfed
Cursing and swearing
Of this life unfairing
Looking outside again
Hoping no more rain
What the f…k?
The sun is back up!

Sweet Red Cherries

“They are ready for the picking, those red, juicy and delicious berries as provided by mother nature. Eat them before the crows do!” Gun Roswell

Juicy and sweet
Quite the treat
When on the beat
In the summer’s heat
And well worth
The tweet

Sparkly as done by nature

“It’s called, water. Something which can be bottled, but when it falls down from the skies, it’s just there for anyone’s taking. To use, to drink, to be put in a sink… there are simply endless possibilities on how to use it! And it’s all, free!!!” Gun Roswell

Sparkling tiny drops
Onto the leaf they popped

“Delivery here!
From the near by shop!
Your order as per requested,
Some freshly made rain drops”

Just another foggy day in July

“The weather gods don’t seem too pleased with us?” Gun Roswell

If you expected sunshine,
Sitting on a terrace
With a cool glass of wine
And feeling, just fine

Then,
I hate to disappoint
Dearie,
But it seems,
The odds
Are heavily
Against you

The weather gods
Decided their jobs
Was to make you sob

Like the true sociopaths
Bringing on their wrath
Even if you did not need a bath

But soaking wet
Soon you’ll be
If you think
The game is set
Maybe
It is time to flee

Or then

Just forget,
The bummer
After all
It is summer
And just
Another day
In July

July is for Pink

“Pink they be, but pretty as can be!” Gun Roswell

A sunny reminder
Of the days of summer
But then we found out
It was actually September
Oh, what a bummer!

Oh well, any ways,
As long as there is no snow
And the winds won’t blow
We won’t have a cow!

Green, totally taking over

“Something peculiar about the summer feel, as it seems, everything has gone totally green!” Gun Roswell

Green, is the front yard
Green, is the colour of the greeting card
Green, is the mind of this bard
Green, you cannot discard

Green, now also Red Rover
Green, like the four leaf clover
Green, is summer’s exposure
Green, is taking over

Welcome To Finland’s Midsummer!!!

“At least there is no snow on the ground, yet!” Gun Roswell

Not creature stirred
Not even a mouse
Vision getting blurred
Or just an illusion
If you come to the conclusion
And dare to leave the house
Heed this warning
The rain come a down pouring
Soon you will be scorning
The streets empty and deserted
The barbeque outside forgotten and defeated
Shivering in ten plus degrees
Wishing you had paid the fees
Of a nice vacation abroad
But your plan was flawed
Planning on spending
The day never ending
At home in stead
Spending the Finnish carnival
An event most formidable
Even though holier than thou
Or the proverbial sacred cow
That was all but a dream
You hear yourself scream
If you’d only been so lucky
But now feeling yucky
Your midsummer
What a bummer
Surely a nightmare to remember

So what really happened:

juhannus-truth

Yellowish?

“Something in yellow perhaps? It’s a rather pretty colour” Gun Roswell

yellowish

In the summery days mellow
Wild flowers of yellow
Growing strong by the curve
So watch carefully where you swerve!

Nature’s Bounty

“There are flowers and berries and lots of things to cherish!” Gun Roswell

The last warm days
Before the cold rains
It is time to prepare
But do not despair
Summer may be ending
The nature surely changing
Soon it will be autumn
But the colours
Will be awesome

A Day spent in Nature

“Nature can be most gorgeous, or dangerous, but more so, gorgeous” Gun Roswell

Sitting on a swing
Not worrying about a thing
Enjoying the simple life
Without a stinger or a strife
The air almost like silk
Time slowly passing by
Not one trouble in sight

Observing, watching, looking
What is nearby cooking

The hedgehog sipping it’s milk
The squirrel with it’s tail high
A bird gliding in mid flight
The flowers in the wind crooking

The clouds hanging softly in the sky
Exhaling, letting out a sigh
The last rays of sun on the skin
What a perfect fin
For a July summer’s day
The grass in a gentle sway
