Having My Cake and Eating It Too

Having my cake
And eating it too
May be
A catch twenty-two

Having it both ways
Without any pays
Looking for clues
Paying my dues

Powerless against sacrifice
Not willing to compromise
Finding ways to circumvent
Avoiding getting dents

Still my cake is crumbling down
Falling into little pieces
Not worth even half a crown
Soon enough ceases
To exist
Vaporizing into mist

Who ever finds the recipe
To uncover this mystery

Call me crazy
Call me a fool
Or just a simple tool
Laughing, grinning
Face in full leering
Feelings of winning
Life gave you lemons
Or battling with demons
Trying not to worry
Or even feel sorry
For things that cannot change
Rather arrange
Time for a full belly laugh
Several times a day
It isn’t daft
Keeps your mind clear
Throughout the year
When you wake up
Forget the wile
Put on that smile
It is the best make up
Everyone can wear
Which will not tear
Come rain or shine
All will be fine

When stepping outside
Much to surprise
A freezing wind
Is greeting your skin
Rubbing your eyes
Hoping, only lies
But, waking to reality
Accepting the actuality
A cover of white
May be a delight
After the lush of green
You have seen
All summer long
Trying to stay strong
It’s here to stay
Pushing away
The slowly creeping
Sinking feeling
Don’t get bitter
It’s only winter
