Daylight Moon (Daily Photo 2016-01-09)

The cloudless blue evening sky
Bringing the moon out from its hide
Painted neatly into the landscape
With a uncompleted crescent shape

The eternal battle
Closer to a haggle
Between moon and sun
Had once more begun

“My favourite thing to do on this planet is to scuba dive” Buzz Aldrin

Favourite Photo Friday 2015 Photo Breakdown (2016-01-08)

Those of you snapping pix, know this to be a tedious task, since to be honest, they are all favourites of the moments they were taken, why else would you have shoot them in the first place, right? Trying to limit to just one or two photos is difficult for any post, but trying my best here from the several thousand photos shot and posted during 2015 😉

For this weeks Favourite Photo Friday posts, I have decided to walk through 2015 and choose a few of my most favourite ones during the coming weeks. Hope you enjoy the walk down memory lane of 2015 in photographs!

For this particular post I have chosen three sets of photographs in three separate posts:

* The Finnish Dream: The idyllic setting of living for a Finn, a cottage on an island near or in the capital area and in the warmth of never ending summer, of course!
* Lighthouses: Two lighthouses for this post; One from the island of Evia, Greece. The other one from the Finnish southern most archipelago, the Söderskär Lighthouse.
* On the boat: An activity very dear to me, leisure time on a boat, with images from Cyprus and Verbania, Italy.

Enjoy!

INTRO

This week’s World Wide Wednesday presents you the Island in the Atlantic Ocean, Lanzarote:

Arid Lanzarote, one of the Canary islands off the coast of West Africa, is known for its year-round warm weather, beaches and volcanic landscape. East-coast resort Puerto del Carmen has whitewashed villas, a harbor and dive centers. Caletón Blanco is a string of northern coves with calm, clear water for snorkeling, and Famara beach has cliffs for hang gliding and surf schools.

Our little journey on the island was set in the small village of Puerto Del Carmen. Some fifteen minutes’ drive from the Arrecife Airport, also known as the Lanzarote Airport. The narrow, but good roads along the coast, were easy to navigate. Never mind google maps on your mobile phone, just follow the street signs and you are there! The island itself was not a big one, everything a short distance away. A week’s worth of relaxation and sightseeing dead ahead!
