Monochromatic Sunshine Land

“I see a lot of of greys” Gun Roswell

Looking at the world through monochromatic eyes
Eyes wide without any shade or disguise
Disguise, which is so easy to cover
Cover up all the faults
Faults only visible in true colours
Colours so easily distorted Distorted like the inevitable truth
Truth which cannot be hidden Hidden in the shades and shadows
Shadows only seen in the darkness
Darkness hiding in the black Black and white turning to grey
Grey, which is the true colour Colour without any kind of colour
Colour only described as monochrome

Monochrome in so many shades
Shades you learn to love Love rather than hate Hate really is such an ugly colour
Colour so much more than any other
Other could be like monochrome Monochrome mania Mania to celebrate it all

Being optimistic, in winter?

“Gambling is a real thing during winter, whether taking a public transport, a bike or the car to wherever you are going. Prepare to take your time as the trip, might take a while!” Gun Roswell

Winter?
So what!
I don’t care!
I am feeling
Quite optimistic
Riding my bike
Sitting on a bench
So what if it snows
It’s almost June!

Take a ride on the city line!

“Public transport can be a lot of fun to catch on, especially during a snow storm!” Gun Roswell

Public transit, oh what joy!
But, before you shout ahoy
Read this story of ploy

Early morning in January
I was really in a hurry
The venue was set in the city
And feeling a little giddy
After all travelling by train
Was not something to do in vain
Especially in the middle of winter
With temperatures below zero
And myself certainly no sprinter
And even less of a hero

Reaching the train station
After half jogging the way
Then I heard the notification
The train had been delayed
No indication as to arrival time
But they told us, all was fine
Just a minor snafu
The train would be there in a few

A few minutes went by
On the platform standing by
Then after a while
Waiting for the train to arrive
I was wishing I had taken the car
I would have been so very far

Oh what fun and joy!
Toes, fingers and nose freezing
The snow storm’s intensity increasing
Now I know, this was a winter’s ploy!

A visit to the big city (small)

“It’s winter, true. But sightseeing can be fun during those times too, especially in a smaller city, even if it is really close to where one lives.” Gun Roswell

The notorious part of the town
Clad in a glorious white gown
Don’t let the history fool you
Sit down on a bench for the view
Beautiful in summer or winter
No longer a sore splinter
Of the great city of Helsinki

A visit to the City

“Sometimes, one likes to get out of the suburbs and venture into the big city. Well, in this case, more like a small one but yeah, Helsinki can have some nice sights to see, even in winter.” Gun Roswell

When left is nothing more to shop
Many of the passengers at the bus stop
Eagerly into a transit will pop
Keeping a distance to the strangers
Good Lord knows what dangers
May lurk behind a simple “hello”

A snowy day in Suburbia

“Sometimes it rains, other times the snow falls, especially during winter times, it is expected to fall, alas, these days, with all the change, who knows which it is until you glance out the window and know for sure.” Gun Roswell

Like confetti thrown on a celebrating crowd
Covering everything in a white shroud
Looking like the skies fluffiest clouds
Enjoying the scenic vision feeling proud
Before the snowy blanket gets ploughed

Footfalls in my woolen socks

“Sometimes, it’s good to forget, the worries, the daily grind, even the shoes and simply stroll out there, into the freshly fallen snow, in only, woolen socks.” Gun Roswell

There are no missteps
Just follow my footsteps
And you may find
A reward of a different kind..
…A pair of woolen socks

Winter just hit the fan!

“We Finns call it the “Taka-talvi”, loosely translated as backslash winter, not fun at all, especially in the supposed spring month of March, that is just so hard!“ Gun Roswell

Snow, snow, snow, let it snow! But hey, it’s already the month of March, so stop pouring that garbage onto our small suburban, still quite large backyard! (to whomever is listening in). Yeah, you heard me, enough is enough and I am not acting tough here, by any means. Simply telling it as seen over here.

Though, to be honest, the last time shovelling the white stuff, cursing enough is enough, it might have been something the weather deities took to their hearts and out of spite, started pushing more of it, simply to show their might. And hey, on the record: that is not nice! (Shaking fist).

Well, today, after some more work out there, trying all them tricks out of the old sleeve, to rid of the pestering freely flowing white stuff of a thing, which even songs some people about like to sing, at least during X-mas time, go figure, what might be the trigger there! Maybe some state of shock or similar set of mind, trying to be kind here.

“Well, It’s worked so far, but we are not off yet!” Was the snide comment just said, as after the driveway was finally plowed, once again free of the snow, which miles on end you can see, at least, during this time of the year, which is not winter anymore, but Spring, so go ahead, try a song out that sing. It really stopped being funny several moments ago!

10 years of Blog Posting already!?!

10 years of Blog Posting already!

Where did the time go?
Somewhere, as it really wasn’t taking things slow!
Alas, here we are, ten years later, mostly not a hater ;P
Blog, blog, blogging away, like this is the place in which to stay!

Well, here’s to ten more!
As guess, it’s not such a huge chore after all!!!

A nightly window view in winter

“The snow, makes all the difference, don’t you think” Gun Roswell

It was once again that time of the season, when for some reason
The expectance of having some much needed snow on the ground
Even if the weather forecast predicted it was nowhere to be found
But those hopeful ones, who dared to wish and upon a star dish
Their deepest and most sacred desires, before they would expire
And so, as the night time once again, like every day, on time fell
Some of the fans of winter, remained seated, by the window sill
And all of a sudden, all their wishes were granted, to the very hilt
As the solemn flakes of frozen ice, across the chilly air, were spied
And where there was one, soon enough, more would definitely follow
Leaving the autumn, grey dull coloured ground anything but hollow
And in the early morning hours, gleeful the cheers of big and small
Were heard where ever anyone looked out of their windows small
The snow had finally landed, and the season just got a whole lot grander
