Buildings At Dusk (Daily Photo)

Tall buildings
Simple,
Without gilding
Built from glass
Possibly to last
Piercing the nightly sky
Lit up pretty
And aiming high

“It’s snowing outside”

She loudly out cried
When through the window eyed
But then, with one quick stride
Without even a good-bye
And to everyone’s surprise
She was gone like a spy
Out into the great wild
Also known as the outside

Orange (SL Week 30), Two

Photo Challenge by SYLVAIN LANDRY
A response to Sylvain’s challenge theme of Orange

“An orange on the table, your dress on the rug, and you in my bed, sweet present of the present, cool of night, warmth of my life” Jacques Prevert

Orange, Two

The picturesque architecture, with houses painted in orange, I found on my trips to Rhodes Greece and Mallorca, Spain.

The notorious part of the town
Clad in a glorious white gown
Don’t let the history fool you
Sit down on a bench for the view
Beautiful in summer or winter
No longer a sore splinter
Of the great city of Helsinki

Hakaniemi, One

Travelling in my home country, Finland and in the exotic capital of Helsinki. For this week I have chosen the (in)famous Hakaniemi, a stone throw away from the City Centre. Or you can just take the Metro or tram to reach Hakaniemi in four minutes from the Central Railway Station 😉

Enjoy!IMG_20160119_143845

Gun’s Travel Log: Greece – Rhodes Island 18

“Happy is the man, I thought, who, before dying, has the good fortune to sail the Aegean sea” Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek

Gun’s Travel Log: Greece, Rhodes: Ode to Rhodes

Gun’s travel log, stardate: Finland, EET (GMT +3)

Bye, bye beautiful island
It may not be my home land
But I promise once more to return
When the travel fever starts to burn
And I will start to yearn
Of the blue and turquoise sea
As far as the eye can see
Even though a Finn
Still loving the fun
And the warmth of the sun
On my skin
So maybe next year
You will see and hear
Me returning to this island
