Green and a Seat

Green and a Seat

The Sunday is once again upon us, like some lurking fiend waiting for the bus.
It is a slow and gentle time, which for most can be simply good and all fine.
But for those with a permanent fire lit up their asses, it can feel like harassment.
As they need to calm the hell down and if possible, take it easy and finally, sit down!
Something, which may never become easy for them, but then again, we are not all built the same.
Still, if and when the decision is made, to take a break for once and be all the same.
Then take a seat, take a load off, stop the huff and puff and simply enjoy the calm day.
After all, tomorrow, just may, be filled with all kinds of things to sort out and forget the play.
So, maybe Sunday wasted, wasn’t all that wasted, rather a moment where inhaling was allowed.
And for that very reason, simply laying about, can always be a good thing, for recharging.
Even if it is done on a way too small seat, painted all in green.

The tallest spot for a seat

“A seat on the tallest mountain, nearby the fountain, is the bench where I usually like to sit on a sunny Sunday” Gun Roswell

The tallest spot for a seat

Usually, the Sunday, is reserved for all kinds of fun, but the truth being told, on this particular day, the only thing that is on my mind, is simple rest and relaxation of a special kind. But for that I need to find, the perfect spot, the best on the dot, a bench somewhere overlooking the world, or at least, most of the closest known city where undisturbed I can sit  and watch, all the people spending their much earned leisure, their precious time, which is all totally fine.

Why, would be the proper question placed here.

Well, guess, because I feel lazy, and also a bit hazy, of the world around me, too much going on all the time, and while mostly it is just fine, today, I am not as strong, and there is nothing wrong, in wanting to take a break and sitting down, this time around. Because I really need my peace and quite, even if I am there in spirit, watching the others having their fun, but today I don’t have to play or run, only to sit down, do absolutely nothing and calm myself without any kind of doubt.

A Perfect Bench to Sit On

“I don’t generally like running.
I believe in training by rising gently up and down from the bench”
Satchel Paige

A Perfect Bench to Sit On

I was looking for
A bench to sit on
What I hoped to score
Something close to a lawn
To lay my tired self
On a softer shelf

Then I saw it
The bench, made of stone
When I tried to sit
I felt it to my bones
Too hard for a fit!

Moving forward
I found one, made of wood
Maybe it wasn’t hard
Rather suitably good
Too soft for a fit!

So once again
I had to complain
But I knew, the right seat
Was just in reach
I just had to seek

A little while longer
As I moved along
The feeling now stronger
I knew it wouldn’t be long
I was close to finding
As I saw the metal shining

I finally found it
A bench made of metal
For me to sit
Soft as a petal
A purr-fect fit

A Seat in Town

“A throne is only a bench covered with velvet”
Napoleon Bonaparte

A Seat in Town

When out and about on the town
And getting all and everywhere around
There is only one thing
You really wish you had found
A neat kind of a seat
Simply for a while to relax on!

Alas, it cannot be too hard
And certainly too soft
But when you find the right spot
You know you can simply stop
Your wandering around
And stay there all day long!

A seat on the shady side of the sun

“A seat on the shady side, after an exploratory day in the fun filled sun, is a nice find” Gun Roswell

A seat on the shady side of the sun

The weary traveler still pushes on, even if the day has been far too warm and way too long
Gotta go, gotta see, gotta feel, gotta do and that one final monument or explore the long lost mystery
But then at the brink of total exhaustion, when on the very last nerve the traveler is trying to hold on
In desperate need, of any kind of chair, bench or seat, one small respite to see, and at least for a minute to take a seat
Alas there are so many other seekers running on their empty feelers and so, the so far denied desperate measures
Finally kick in and with the last ounce of strength, running that final stretch to that one vacant bench
And luckily, it was on the shady side, of a solemn kind of a lonely street, just the place no one had yet seen
Except now, me, as I reach before yielding to total defeat, of the ever present heat all around, but a respite nevertheless I have found
So, it’s ok for a while, taking deep breaths while settling to the calm and now, it will be a long while before I will move again

A Bench to Sit on, on a Sunday afternoon

“I don’t generally like running. I believe in training by rising gently up and down from the bench” Satchel Paige

A Bench to Sit on, on a Sunday afternoon

The moving, must be forward
In this weather so totally hot
But I need a place to rest for a moment
Before I can continue, this utter torment
So, after searching, for a long, long moment
I found one seat, made out of wood
Maybe, it would not be too hard
Rather, just suitably good
Or then, it might just  be too soft, for a fit!
But no matter the surface
I so totally need to rest!

Seat in Monochrome

“A seating in black and white, like from an old move set!” Gun Roswell

Seat in Monochrome

When you are all dressed up nice
And smelling like flowers and spice
Would it not be prudent to take a seat
Some place nice and totally upbeat

Strolling down the busiest of streets
The eyes spy something unique
A cafe with tables so quaint
Reminding of yesteryear, even the paint

Making waves as toward the cafe I sway
Soon enough, at a table I am on display
Like a picture prefect setting from a film noir
Hey, don’t mock it, until you yourself try!

Sunny side on the Bench

“When I was a kid, the only way I saw movies was from the back seat of my family’s car at the drive-in” Forest Whitaker

Sunny Side on the Bench

On the sunny side of the bench
No option of getting drenched

Enjoying the long, warming rays
In these unworried and lazy days

Before the days are done
Soaking in the healing sun

With closed eyes this moment
Like an image in my mind burnt
