Caturday from the Past

“In nine lifetimes,
you’ll never know as much about your cat as your cat knows about you”
Michel de Montaigne

Caturday

I still remember
That day in September
When a furry bundle of joy
Appeared at my door
And with a loud roar
Shouted: Ahoy!

Over thirty years ago
With four more in tow
With fullest of force
Changing the course
Of my entire life
Without much strife

London in Black and White in the Rain

…Never mind the sad bad weather
My skin is made of thick leather
A few raindrops do not harm
Even a little storm
Won’t keep me away
From the London sway

London in Black and White in the Rain

Rain, rain, rain
Running down the drain
Around in the City of London
Without the feeling of boredom
Too many things to see
Face lit up with a glee…

“There’s nowhere else like London.
Nothing at all, anywhere”

London in Black and White

…Hop on a bus
Without much fuss
Follow the lines
And you’ll be fine
Eyes wide open
Seeing more than hoping
In the evening
You are dreaming
Of how much more
The next day has in store

London in Black and White

Over the rooftops
To the hustle and bustle
Of the streets of London
In just a few hops
A few old castles
And a famous dungeon…

Mini Seat for Seat Sunday

Mini Seat

A mini seat
Is quite neat
But,
It won’t carry
A large fleet

Black Cat

When the black cat
Was crossing the street
She was chasing a rat
Trying to act discreet
Hiding behind a big hat
Awaiting her treat

The grounded bat
Knew he tasted sweet
Stood still on the mat
There was no time to greet
Only time, for combat

After a long while
Both standing still
Trying to act hostile
But without thrill
So instead of the usual
They decided in mutual

This tale’s end
Will the norm bend
Cat and mouse decided
To shake their paws delighted
The lesson of this tale?
Sometimes it’s good to fail

Acropolis, Athens, for World Wide Wednesday (four)

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart” Helen Keller

Acropolis, Athens

Once reaching the top
The effort but one hop
The view of awe and beauty
You know it really was your duty

Acropolis, Athens

Walking in the footsteps
Of the ancient Greeks
But, watch your steps
On the narrow streets

Acropolis, Athens

Climbing up the mountain
Looking for the fountain
Of wisdom and history
Shrouded in mystery
