The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Time
This week, think about time and portray it photographically. Maybe you have a photo about one of the activities in the extract from Haig’s book above. Perhaps you have a fascination with clocks. Or maybe contemplating time takes you somewhere else completely. I hope you enjoy this week’s challenge.
“Even if it turns out that time travel is impossible, it is important that we understand why it is impossible” Stephen Hawking
Seconds
Heart beating
Time is running out
Only a few seconds left
For the ultimate request
Using a different route
Feels like cheating
Finally reaching
My own hideout
No time for rest
Only doing my best
No time for tryout
Parameter breaching
Safely in my blue box
Punching the clock
Time starts moving
Seconds removing
Going backwards
Against standards
They said
It couldn’t be done
But did I bet
And know I am gone
Back in time
Trying to find
…My future

“Say goodbye to the oldies, but goodies, because the good old days weren’t always good and tomorrow ain’t as bad as it seems.” Billy Joel
The Good Old Times
In the good old times…
Everything was cheaper
The sky was much bluer
The summers were longer
The winters were colder
The children played nicer
The women were prettier
The men more handsome
The songs were chansons
The television shows were better
Complaints were written in letters
The world was wider
Everyone drank cider
And over all…
Everyone had more fun
In the good old times!

“On my way here I passed a local cinema and it turned out you were expecting me after all, for the billboards read: The Mummy Returns.” Margaret Thatcher
Snow Mummies
Uncovered from the snow
In the dark night they glow
Small black stones for eyes
Only afraid of the sunrise
Melting their worst enemy
Cold weather the only remedy
Sitting pretty for now
Until the earth they will bow
