Winter 11

“Now is the winter of our discontent” Richard III, William Shakespeare

Nightfall

Soft white lights
In the middle of the night
All have taken flight
From the silent street
Not even a tweet
From the lonely parakeet

After all,
It’s no ball
In the middle of
Winter

Red

What a blast
The contrast
Not unabashed
As it flashed
Its red colour
All over

Blurred Bines

With a snow cover
On the top they hover
Not quite the clover
Still always on the upper
They say it’s a hopper

They call them the blurred bines
Yeah yeah yeah!

Bending not breaking

Swaying back and forth
Somewhere up north
In a forsaken part of earth
Where mother nature gave them birth

Snowfall

It pours when it snows
When the soft white stuff downward flows
But still something strong grows
Even if the wind really hard blows

Snowy Cotton Balls

Fluffy and puffy
But still most toughie
Balls made of snow
In the darkness they’ll glow
Pick one up and whoa!
Then in a slow mo
It far away throw

The finer side of life… with Trash (SL WEEK 32)

“My trash can got stolen five times. Finally the owner just let me have it.
” ― Jarod Kintz,

The finer side of life… with Trash (SL WEEK)

Trash day
Better hurry it up
The pick up
Will not wait
Bring your discarded
Into the front yard
Surely soon enough
They will disappear

“Better three hours too soon than a minute too late” William Shakespeare

Time (SL WEEK 31)

Oh, how time flies
In front of
My very eyes
When sitting still
On the wing
Of an aeroplane

I Thought My Life Would Include More Impromptu Sing-a-longs (Repost for SL WEEK)

I Thought My Life Would Include More Impromptu Sing-a-longs

Call me crazy
Or a little hazy
Mostly amazing
And feeling like a daisy

Bursting into song
With the bang of a gong

In the middle of the street
Quick on my feet
On a rush hour bus
Without any fuss

Laughing, prancing
Singing, dancing

A dull working day
Blowing my mind away
Standing in the checkout line
Feeling absolutely fine

Laughing, prancing
Singing, dancing

Call the white coats
And have me committed?
Wouldn’t you rather
join me and admit it
A sing-a-long
Was just the thing
You needed
All along

Row row row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Life is but a dream

Winter Morning

Early winter morning
Early, before the dawning
Fresh tracks in the powdery snow
Carefully found before the wind blows

The snowflakes frozen
Glazed against the window
Ski tracks on the ground
But not a soul to be found

The crescent moon
Present before noon
But not far behind
The sun with its shine
