Seconds (The Daily Post Photo Challenge)

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Time

This week, think about time and portray it photographically. Maybe you have a photo about one of the activities in the extract from Haig’s book above. Perhaps you have a fascination with clocks. Or maybe contemplating time takes you somewhere else completely. I hope you enjoy this week’s challenge.

“Even if it turns out that time travel is impossible, it is important that we understand why it is impossible” Stephen Hawking

Seconds

Heart beating
Time is running out
Only a few seconds left
For the ultimate request
Using a different route
Feels like cheating

Finally reaching
My own hideout
No time for rest
Only doing my best
No time for tryout
Parameter breaching

Safely in my blue box
Punching the clock
Time starts moving
Seconds removing
Going backwards
Against standards

They said
It couldn’t be done
But did I bet
And know I am gone
Back in time
Trying to find
…My future

“Say goodbye to the oldies, but goodies, because the good old days weren’t always good and tomorrow ain’t as bad as it seems.” Billy Joel

The Good Old Times

In the good old times…

Everything was cheaper
The sky was much bluer
The summers were longer
The winters were colder
The children played nicer
The women were prettier
The men more handsome
The songs were chansons
The television shows were better
Complaints were written in letters
The world was wider
Everyone drank cider

And over all…
Everyone had more fun

In the good old times!

Share each Friday, on your own blog, one photo…or maybe even a gallery of some of your favorite photos that you have taken during the week, that make you smile or that was a great photo capturing opportunity…anything really! And as photographers are often known to say, “The best camera is, the one that you have with you!”

Favourite Photo Friday: 2015 Photo Breakdown: London, England

Happy 2016 Everyone!

Those of you snapping pix, know this to be a tedious task, since to be honest, they are all favourites of the moments they were taken, why else would you have shoot them in the first place, right? Trying to limit the number to just one or two photos is difficult for any post, but trying my best here from the several thousand photos shot and posted during 2015 😉

For this particular post, I have chosen two taken in England, London.
Continuing on the travel theme, more 2015 favourites in parts twothreefour and five.
Go and check them out!

Enjoy!

Moon, Moon, where art thou?

“Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art” Ansel Adams

Moon, Moon, where art thou?

Moon, moon
Where art thou moon?
Come out from your hiding
On the nightly path guiding
Before off the trail
I go slipping and sliding

Ready for the Close-up

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence” Ansel Adams

Ready for the Close-up

Getting closer and closer
A little more closer
Almost close enough
For an object to touch
But wait, time to hesitate
The cactus with mighty thorns
May your fingers scorn
Before you loose
Better choose
The creamy strawberries
With their pals blueberries
A tasty treat
Without any meat
Some eye candy to complete
With a red amaryllis ever so sweet

Squirrels, birds and cats
With and without their hats
Kitty sitting on the potty
The vigilant bird on watch

Trying to limit to just one or two photos is difficult for any post, but trying my best here from the several thousand photos shot and posted during 2015 😉

For this week’s breakdown, I have chosen three photographs each from the following topics:

All creatures, Great and Small
Ready for the Close up
Moon, Moon, where art thou?
Early Bird catches the Sunrise

Hope you enjoy the walk down memory lane of 2015 in photographs!
