One Day in December for Daily Photo (one)

“December’s wintery breath is already clouding the pond,
frosting the pane, obscuring summer’s memory…”
― John Geddes

One Day in December

The setting sun, painted the sky in colours
Red, yellow, blue, even with a darker hue

Thursday for Daily Photo (two)

“This must be Thursday.
I never could get the hang of Thursdays.”
Douglas Adams

“Do you consider yourself lucky?”

She asked and turned towards Chucky,
Who was standing there mouth agape
Like he’d just seen a really odd ducky

“I guess…”

Chucky managed to stutter,
Pondering what next to utter
As the gorgeous sunset
Had his heart in a state of flutter
But soon, managed to recover
And out loud to only whisper

“Yes, I am very lucky”

Continuing staring
Up high
Into the red sky,
Still flaring

Shopping Mall Deer, Part Two, Going Cartoon

Shopping Mall Deer, Part Two, Going Cartoon

shopping-mall-deer-the-cartoon-1
I am Eddy,
The shopping mall reindeer
A big plastic piece of work
This side of the hemisphere

So did this little tune
And ended in a cartoon
Watch me now,
And don’t confuse me with a cow
As I am starring
With all you shoppers sparring

I am Eddy,
The shopping mall reindeer
A big plastic piece of work
This side of the hemisphere

Shopping Mall Deer

I am Eddy,
The shopping mall reindeer

A big plastic piece of work
This side of the hemisphere
Some say, I am a little queer

But when they see me oh so very near
They say, after a few drunken beer
I am the prettiest thing this year
So come on closer and my song hear

For I am Eddy,
The shopping mall reindeer

“And finally Winter,
with its bitin’, whinin’ wind,
and all the land will be mantled with snow”

Then Snow Came

As it was pouring, when it rains
Yes, it was time, for this game!

So just run for your lives
Before you get the wintery hives”

Down, down, down
The snow again came
Filling the open drain

A multitude of flakes
Leaving in its wake
Even filling, a very large lake

Night Time for Daily Photo

Posted in Daily Photo: Photography, Poetry and Humour

“A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.”
Steve Martin

Night Time

In the middle of the night
When nothing stirs, nothing moves
A few solemn lights
In the slow wind groove
The rain the only sound
And it really, really is loud!
