“We have chased away the clouds, the sky is all ‘rose.'” Francois Hollande

Fire in the Sky (Daily Photo 2016-01-14)

The sky
Supposedly blue
Now
The colour
Of a rosy hue
Fluffiest
Of clouds
Painting
A red shroud
The sun is
About to rise

“I look like the man in the moon” Martin Freeman

Daylight Moon (Daily Photo 2016-01-09)

The cloudless blue evening sky
Bringing the moon out from its hide
Painted neatly into the landscape
With a uncompleted crescent shape

The eternal battle
Closer to a haggle
Between moon and sun
Had once more begun

“Now is the winter of our discontent” William Shakespeare

Sunset

A flash of light
Breaking the gray skies
It was a sight
But oh how time flies
The sun
Has set

“No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn” Hal Borland

Footsteps

There are no missteps
Just follow my footsteps
And you may find
A reward of a different kind..
…A pair of woollen socks

“You can’t get too much winter in the winter” Robert Frost

Window view

Outside it’s cool and crispy
The clouds are hanging low
It’s just another day in January
With quite a lot of snow
Sitting in my home office
The images quite flawless
Admiring the window views
In my hand my favourite brew

“Winter covers the world in crystal white magic” Carolyne Roehm

Frosted

Like icing on the cake
Frosting forms on the window
Where ever the wind cold blows
The fragile frozen flakes
Suddenly, without warning, appearing
Before once more disappearing
Shapes for the imagination
The nature’s true creation
Trying them to capture
Preserve for the future
Always fails
The only thing, which remains
Is a tall tale
Without any trail

Snow, Part Three

Close to night fall
The sun about to set
The moon coming out
Time for a nap
Before the next day
Begins

Snow, Part Two

Last remnants of summer
Forgot it’s time for slumber
It’s way past September
Look it up in the calendar
It says: January
