December has lights!

“December is a month of great expectations” Gun Roswell

The sun setting on this dark eve
And for a while it cannot be seen
Polar nights have taken the skies
As a hostage for a longer while

But even in the darkness
There is something which can impress
The holiday season around the corner
All them lights shining from top to floor

December lights I two

“December is a month of great expectations” Gun Roswell

December lights

An angel called, asking, if we seen a pair of wings
You see, when on a drunken binge
When on the stage and trying some karaoke to sing
She had misplaced them after doing a new thing

A split like move, while finding her groove
Mixing the proverbial stew, with something totally new
Just on herself to improve and the audience to prove
An angel could do, much more than anyone knew

January 2017 for Daily Photo (three)

Posted in Daily Photo: Photography, Poetry and Humour

“You can’t party all the time –
especially in January!”
Neon Hitch

January 2017

Criss-cross
Like using,
Dental floss
Across
The snowy road
People and wheels
Slowly float
Today,
There is no boss
Just the substance
In the colour
Of white
Can you feel
How lite
We now are?

Snow Day for Daily Photo (one)

“And finally Winter, with its bitin’, whinin’ wind,
and all the land will be mantled with snow”
Roy Bean

Snow Day

The wind
But a whisper
In the winter’s shiver
When crossing
The frozen river

“And now we welcome the new year.
Full of things that have never been”
Rainer Maria Rilke

Last Friday of 2016

Bright light
Lighting up
The polar night
Sooner than later
It will be day light
And maybe, an alligator?

“It’s about bloody time!”
I cried

And luckily,
The New Year
Is almost here

Last Friday of 2016

Frosty Elves
Shitting, on my shelves
Something smells

“Oh, hell
No need to dwell
I am doing well”

Because,
The New Year
Is almost here

“And now we welcome the new year.
Full of things that have never been”

Last Friday of 2016

The day
Dark and dreary
The house is quiet
The holiday lights
Bringing, some cheer
Opening a beer
My face in a leer

“Oh, never mind,
Time to unwind”

Because,
The New Year
Is almost here

Thursday for Daily Photo

“Of joys departed, not to return,
how painful the remembrance”
Robert Blair

Thursday

Candles lit
On the window’s sill
In remembrance
Of friends gone by

From Dawn till Dusk for Daily Photo

Posted in Daily Photo: Photography, Humour and Poetry

“Not knowing when the dawn will come I open every door”
Emily Dickinson

From Dawn till Dusk

dawn

“It’s been a hard day’s night, and I’d been working like a dog
It’s been a hard day’s night, I should be sleeping like a log”

That music in my head;
Should have stayed in bed!

From dawn till dusk
From dusk till dawn
Work, work, work
You can certainly, smell the musk!
Feeling like a jerk
Now, all I can do is yawn

Hardly any daylight
In the immediate sight
Oh, Polar Night,
Thou art a heartless might!
