“Oh, don’t let’s ask for the moon. We’ve already got the stars” Bette Davis

December Moon, Part Two

“Look, the moon boss, the moon!”

December moon
You came so soon
Where did you go?
We were looking for you
Already a month ago
Here you are
Shining bright
Did you go far?
Never mind,
You are always
Such a delight!

Partly hidden
Behind the soft clouds
Playing chicken?
Or just a misty shroud?

The river snaking across the expanse
This may just be the promised land
Clear waters as far as the eye can see
A perfect place for the summer to flee

December The First

Posted in honour of the month of December
Poetry and Photography

sunrise-4

“December’s wintery breath is already clouding the pond, frosting the pane, obscuring summer’s memory…” John Geddes

December The First

December the first
Came with a burst
A sunrise most gorgeous
It’s almost flirtatious

Come what may
December made its way
Holiday season upon us
With sunshine in abundance

Winter

The Daily Post Photo Challenge: Transition

For this week’s challenge, share an image that depicts transition. Let life itself be your muse.

Part Four: Winter

winter 1

“In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer” Albert Camus

Winter

Brightness surrounding
Snow’s blanket covers all
Feeling my heart pounding
Cannot help but feeling small
The world seemingly wider
Nothing, but snow as a divider

Part Three: November

“November always seemed to me the Norway of the year” Emily Dickinson

November

Endless darkness has fallen
The sun elsewhere been stolen
Searching for a bright spot
Is like trying to change the plot

Part Two: Autumn Foliage

“Summer ends, and Autumn comes, and he who would have it otherwise would have high tide always and a full moon every night” Hal Borland

Autumn Foliage

The colours are of plenty
The wind cooling gently
Nature filled with changes
Much like the turning of pages

“Oh, the summer night, Has a smile of light, And she sits on a sapphire throne” Bryan Procter

Summer

The colours lush and green
No rain nor snow was seen
On a warm summer’s night
Both stars and skies were bright

Just An Other Saturday?

In honour of the month of November
Poetry and Photography

saturday-2

“The sky may fall on our heads tomorrow”

Just An Other Saturday?

Early morning
Dark skies
The wind howling
The rain pours

Just an other Saturday morning
In the month of November

More darkness to follow
Life empty and hollow
Through the window
The outside world
Only but a blur

But,
Just look out!
Something happens
A single white flake
Then an other
Could it be…
Snowing?

Lightness surrounding
From the skies to the ground
Happy thoughts, clear mind
Nothing more need I find

On just an other Saturday
