Red, Photography and Poetry

Photography and Poetry

“Red is the ultimate cure for sadness” Bill Blass

Red

Seeing red?
Hoping for something else instead?
What can I say
I like to play
Red is red is red
Maybe you should have stayed in bed
So like it or not
Here are the shots

Sepia, Photography and Poetry

Photography and Poetry:  The Clinic /Photo Rehab

“Without poetry, stories would be told in sepia” Ellen Hopkins

Sepia

The faded colour
A reminder of the past
Many nuances to discover
Monochrome to last

Once a colourful picture
A photographer’s signature
Now, maybe a work of art
Or close to someones heart

Flower Power

Poetry and Photography

“The earth laughs in flowers” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Flower Power

My eyes fixated
Almost sated
Admiring the colours
And the odors
Of those precious things
Making my heart sing
Glad I saw you today
You really saved my day

Peekaboo, I see You

Poetry and Photography

“A day without sunshine is like, you know, night” Steve Martin

Peekaboo, I see You

Hey you, yellow dot
Up in the sky
Why are you trying to hide
Come on, shine through
And give us some hot
Give us the groove
I know you got
Plenty to share
So just dare
And let some warmth
Into our hearts
Before the storms
Show up for their parts

Dark Shadows

Photography and Poetry

“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow” Helen Keller

Dark Shadows

The sky filled with darkness
The cast shadows seem harmless
The calm before the storm
Everything soon to transform
The rain and thunder soon to follow
The earth and skies swallowed
By nature’s display of power
No need to feel sour
Soon the sun will shine again
And the bad weather will be slain

The Sun

Photography and Poetry

“Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you”

The Sun

Today something strange happened
Leaving most of us quite baffled
Something called “the sun” appeared
With its striking rays all of the sky smeared
Out from our caves we emerged
Rubbing our eyes in an urge

The sun boss, the sun!
Someone shouted
It was no pun
Even though doubted

There had been many a tales
Like someone seeing the whales
Of such oddities happening before
But never ever in the wildest dreams
Would we hoped to have scored
Or so it seems

Now, bearing witness
To this unusual event
The sun really existing
Like an early Christmas present

After the rain

Photography and Poetry

“Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet” Bob Marley

After the rain

The leaves are greener
The air is cleaner
The sky is bluer
Raindrops the only reminder
Of the storm now passed by

Island living

Photography and Poetry

“The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace” Kate Chopin, Writer

Island living

An island in the sea
A little red cottage by the tree
A carefree living
Is so much giving
A boat docked at the pier
The ocean and sky clear
“Gone a fishing” sign posted
For dinner, the catch roasted
When the night falls
Time to recall
The day’s adventures
The simple pleasures
Of this island life

At the Market Square

Visit Helsinki!

“Helsinki isn’t all that bad. It’s a very nice city, and it’s cold really only in wintertime” Linus Torvalds

At the Market Square

The hustle and bustle
The use of the rustle
All the customers
Lurking about this summer
The Market Square
The biggest fair
This side of town
The jewel of the crown
Bursting with life
Peacefully, without a strife
Roaming the stands
Even if not a fan
You may enjoy the ambiance
So come on down and take chance

Life in the Archipelago, Photography in black and white, Poetry

Photography and Poetry:  The Clinic / Photo Rehab

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever” Jacques Yves Cousteau

Life in the Archipelago

Life at it’s hardest
When living most farthest
From the creature comforts
But still the efforts
Are worth the while
And with a smile
Continue living
In an environment most unforgiving
