Pink Flora

“Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature”
Gerard De Nerval

Rhythmic

Stacked, with a rhythm
By someone, with a vision
It seems, like repetition
But it is clearly, symbolism

Pink Rose 1

A rose, painted in pink
With a most delicate ink
And only for a moment, it will remain
But your heart, forever it will stain

Pink Rose 2

Faded colour
Faded odour
Reminiscent, of summer
For it too,
Will loose its colours
And turn to slumber
When Autumn falls

Green Taking Over

Posted in Simply Poetry

“No water, no life.
No blue, no green”
Sylvia Earle

Green Taking Over

Green, is the front yard
Green, is the colour of the greeting card
Green, is the mind of this bard
Green, you cannot discard

Green, now also Red Rover
Green, like the four leaf clover
Green, is summer’s exposure
Green, is taking over

Red Rose

Posted in Simply Poetry

“A rose by any other name…”

Red Rose

A beautiful red rose
Now, fully grown
Standing, in a tall pose
Waiting, for the one it chose

“Send a bouquet of your face with the morning breeze”
Hafez

A Bunch

A bunch of flowers, equals a bouquet
Don’t need many of them, to save the day
Pretty enough, colourful enough
Just enough, in the vase on display
To keep far away, the clouds of grey

The Yellow Flower Gang

“Yellow,
flower power!”

The Yellow Flower Gang

We are a gang, made of material tough
But we never, have to play it rough
You may hear us say some odd stuff
We may have to say, ‘that’s enough’
But never out of spite but out of love

Naturally made Doughnut

“Donuts.
Is there anything they can’t do?”
– Matt Groening

Naturally made Doughnut

Mouth agape
For this round shape
But I won’t break
For its glorious taste

It wasn’t made out of paste
Not with sugar laced
As its round shape I traced
I knew, I would it embrace

Feeling spaced
My nemesis I faced
All inhibitions erased
And soon, I was in need, of toothpaste

Luminous

Posted in Simply Poetry

“To me, life, for all its privations,
is a luminous thing.
You have to risk it.”
Jeanette Winterson

Luminous

Illuminated
Elated
Dedicated
Awaited

Luminous things of nature
In this frozen portraiture
Not just a summer’s feature
But living, breathing creatures

Fated
Sacred
Created
Illuminated
